Exactly what firmware are you using to do the recovery? So after a few trys i got the --es-- on the recovery and let the box do its thing but now but still the front screen seems to be stuck on boot and every now and again ill get ua1 or something and if it does load then all the on screen menu options will say null!
Tried to do the recovery again but not having it. I guess im going to need a rs232 cable :-/
Not getting anything out of it now!
That's what I've been saying but no body backing me up here lolDid notice that Eurosport 4K was clearing for a few minutes this morning so they must be testing its offline now though.
The latest firmware.Exactly what firmware are you using to do the recovery?
1.14?The latest firmware.
Yea mate. But as I mentioned not getting any kind of power on at all now.1.14?
Box completely dead?Yea mate. But as I mentioned not getting any kind of power on at all now.
Yep, after the recovery it rebooted but all the on screen options said null and then it just kept rebooting on boot. You think this piece of shit is even fixable with a rs cable?Box completely dead?
Cheers. I’ll order a cable as well.If a recovery is possible, you need to use an original firmware, not a PT firmware which gives you the forever service.
I don't know if it's any good to you now, but here is the latest original firmware.
This is from another forum.......
1. Format a USB to FAT32.
2. Rename the software to "update.bin" and copy to the USB.
3. With the Viark disconnected from the light, insert the USB into the VIARK receiver.
4. Turn on the Viark and press (hold) the POWER button on the front of the receiver.
5. Stop pressing the POWER button, once the letters "-ES-" appear on the display, since the recovery will begin.
Good luck.
If the box is absolutely dead, with no sign of any power then I would think a cable won't do any good.Cheers. I’ll order a cable as well.
Just a bit crazy to think that the power cut could of killed it. its put me off buying another put it that way.If the box is absolutely dead, with no sign of any power then I would think a cable won't do any good.
Power cuts can affect many devices, not just Viark satellite boxes.Just a bit crazy to think that the power cut could of killed it. its put me off buying another put it that way.
not got a clue if itll have any warranty and pretty sure they will say you put other firmware on it, maybe ill try and blag it.Might be a silly question, but is the fuse ok? Is there an internal fuse? Is the box still under guarantee?
I have heard this said but it is wrong. If a recovery is possible, you need to use an original firmware, not a PT firmware which gives you the forever service.
I have only had to recover an android Viark box and it wouldn't recover with a PT firmware. It did recover with an original firmware. I am certainly no expert on this matter.I have heard this said but it is wrong.
Ive used any type of firmware tried and tested both types Original and PT.
They both work.
