Make sure the Ethernet cable is not faulty, swap it for another.

I have already checked the cable I can flash the box via a web browser but then have to disconnect the Ethernet cable or the box will not boot and when the box has booted and you reconnect the cable it just locks up the dreambox

My guess is that your router settings are incorrect because you have the same behaviour with the LAN cable and the WiFi-USB-Stick. Maybe everything is okay with the box.

It is a strange one I have 2 dreamboxes the other one is working fine with my router so would guess the settings on that are fine but will have a check but it is using DCHP so it should be OK and also I can flash an image via the router I just have to disconnect it to get the thing to boot up strange.

Can u boot without the cable connected?? If so, just boot up
AND then connect ur cable once device is up and running . Then go to settings, and tick dchp,, and search for networks , restart network til it connects.

Thank you for the reply,

It is very strange what I have found out so far is this.

If I disconnect the Ethernet cable the box will boot.

If I disconnect the satellite cable then it will boot with the Ethernet and WiFi working but when you plug the satellite cable back into the dreambox it will freeze the picture but the audio still works.

Anyone got any ideas?

Im wondering of the extra load cause by the tuner working with the sat cable in is putting a strain on the psu, if its weak its a possibility. Try another PSU

Thanks for the idea it did seem to help a bit it will now run WiFi and show a picture the problem is that when the box is turned off it goes back to how it was before in that it wont boot so I have to re-flash it every time it is turned off also for some reason I can only get a GP3 image to run on it.

Any ideas as to how to fix this?

Flash other image with dream up that will help

I have tried just about every image there is and the GP3 one for some reason is the only one that will boot.

I have not had much luck with flashing with dream up it always fails when it gets near the end so have been flashing the box via a browser.

Put ssl 82 on and that seems to get it booting OK with a nemesis_2.2 image but it will not show a picture for very long before it freezes any ideas I have already tried another tuner.

Now flash the 84b ssl and then use a later ssl 84b image see how you go.
