VU+ Duo versus Dreambox

For years I have had a Dreambox 7020.
The cost of an HD Dreambox is too much for me, I like the look of the VU+ Duo, the fact with 2 HD tuners , hard drive and linux is more than anyone can ask for.

I have some questions.
What kernel does the VU+ duo have?
This can be found by telnet and the type:
uname -a

With dreambox I used Gemino, Edg Nemesys etc.
Is there much diference between the images on the VU+


With dreambox I was able to open a few channels with mgcam, on 19E and 39E (no card sharing). Is this possible with VU+ duo?

Images have just gone to 2.6.18-7.3

And yes you can use uname -a to show version number.

To compare VU+ Duo with dm8000 it's a poor joke.With dm8000 you can have up to 4 plug'n'play tuners ,oled display ,4 CI ,dvd , PiP with 2 HD chanels ,better ecm time in sci ,to name a few.The price for VU+ Duo it's ok,but it's not in the same class with dm8000,not near.If the price it's your problem,I suggest to look at dm800se clone,and ET9200.ET9200 has also dual tuners,but speedy processor,and 512ram.

i think the best is ET-9200 it has kernel ET 9x00 3.1.0 but i am not expert and maybe i am wrong

if you look in to the vu section and ET section you will see the deferent if you ask me i can say wait for vu ultimo...

Vu Duo runs kernel 3.1.1 just fine.
