Wasn't that your guide,? I maybe making that up but it was a nice guide. Easy to follow, pretty straightforward.

I trailed through quite a few pages of this thread initially just trying to grasp what I needed to do at the very start. But that guide a life saver. Isn't it pinned now... definitely wouldn't want to be reading hundreds of posts now.

Yeah for what they open. But just in Terms of actual software...much better. I like the viark for what it does but hate the software..

But I only use it for the football so it's spot on.

I've no doubt if it were available on e2, then sure most would use their original boxes, providing it was as solid as viark.

Lol yeah.

But technically as far as I understand the concept there nothing to stop from running it on e2. Card with the entitlements , oscam etc.

But hey , its great for what it opens, can't complain. Just wished my viark done the powervu ...ah well. Just make do as I only watch the footy.

If it was available on E2 they would make a killing, they could get away with charging the cost of the viark as a yearly sub without the production and shipping costs of the hardware.

Sadly too many would end up hacking it though, so they won't do that.

Absolutely. I don't know enough about the hack but have an idea of how it works but kudos to them.

It's a low price to pay , no doubt making $$ anyway but for each individual user they haven't taken the piss.

forcing an upgrade in Encryption for many providers also .
long term it would mean nothing but dark screens which you may well prefer ?
So in reality any public leak and you would see your E2 box clearing much more than Virak etc..which would not be a whole lot .
GT Media works fine for powervu you just made a poor choice when opting for Virak box knowing it does not work for powervu : )

True. But to be fair I'm sure sly and co are well aware of this anyway. With fingerprinting broadcasts, I wouldn't want to be sharing my card with the fear of being traced

Yeah tbf I really didn't know alot about the different boxes. I think I chose the vark sat because couldn't get the droi version and gtmedia never entered my mind.

I do see them boxes on Ali express for £40 . Assuming they should be fine if I ever decide to get one

Well Viark did clear Powervu so there is no reason it can not do now, firmware need tweaking for PowerVU.

I hope one day that comes.

What's the iptv like on GT Media V8Uhd @barney115 is it the same as the Viark with SP2 loaded?
I've started to use the iptv more on the Viark as it's top quality pic and sound and the Vod is great as well, much better than it used to be.
The UK channels are great and epg good as well.

You must update your Viark at PT 1.18.
If you are using any older version, including 1.17, it is down.

Yes GT Media V8 UHD IPTV works very well with 7 Day EPG
