Using multiboot On E2 machines.

It's been a long while is I used multiboot on Enigma machines. The last time i used multiboot was when using a dreambox 800hd and the plugin Barry Allen. I've just been using a vix image for a short while and did notice that there was an option in the shutdown menu. One question I have is you run multiboot from a usb stick and i would expect that you place the images on that stick, but when I put the USB stick into the solo 4k box and try set it up it formats the USB stick to a unknown format. My question is how do you keep the boot images on the usb stick as when I removed the usb stick and put it back into a pc it wants to format it again.

Remind me what box or boxes your running at the moment ?

The best form or multiboot receivers come with a large flash and flash based slots which can hold another image on each slot.

Few receivers as an example

Zgemma H11
AX61
Gigablue UE
Octagon SF8008

If your box is not capable, depending on what it is will need something similar to Barry Allen.

The Solo 4k has slot multiboot



You probably have a flash online option in then menus somewhere where you can flash images to other slots

You can also flash from usb to a slot with the MMC version of the image..

You may have to use a recovery image version to partion the flash to enable the slots to start with so you would need to backup your image you have now and reflash to a slot afterwards.

I'll take a look i know that in the pure2 image the multiboot option is not in the powerdown menu as it is in vix. I saw a plugin in the plugin downloads but it tried to download it and it did not seem to install. I'm going to be busy for a short period of time so will play with it once i am free.

Your box needs no plugins

Id use OpenATV 7.2 Or OpenPLI recovery file to format the partitions into the flash.

Then flash the backups of your current images to a free slot

Can you recommend any others multiboot plugin for this box?
