unstable DM800se clone box

My friend have two dm800se boxes, both sim210 versions.

For the last 6 months one of them started to get very unstable. The box freezing and giving random green screen and reboots, often after short time usage.
I have been trying to help him, and reflashed the box in case it was a software problem. But we tried a couple of different images and the problem was still present.
Because of this I suscpect the problem is hardware related.

I was thinking that the box might have less problems if I found an image that have very low cpu and memory usage.
What might be the most stable and most lightweight image to try?

I also welcome any other suggestions to solve the problem.

First thing to try is another power supply.

First thing to try is another power supply.

I agree with the power supply it could be an unstable voltage problem
also as we all know some clones tend to run too hot and can crash on heavy cpu cycles
my first 800 had a similar problem I added a targus usb powered laptop fan underneath, I also replaced the fan on the heatsink inside with a much better quality one.
My last resort was going to be the old trick of gluing mini heatsinks to every chip inside the box but the better quality internal fan did the trick
I have to say though now I could easily dry my hair on the air flow output from the box

Thanks for the tip about powersupply and heating.

I will tell my friend to try his other PSU from the box that is working ok.
