Excellent detailed information must have taken you a while to do this and then report back appreciate it as am sure others have. I have tried all the options to get biss au working from the details you have said but again has not worked for me but as said before think its a problem with the receiver itself so back to manually input of biss which is at least back able to do. I will persevere with the receiver for now in the hope that when the 4k version comes out as i think manic01 said towards the end of the year will have a patch that includes biss au. I have looked into getting the Viark 4k as from reading that dedicated thread seems to tick all the boxes for a non linux receiver but our forum sponsor does not seem
to stock it nor any other uk company from my searches so as said will stick to what have for the moment.

Patches and reliability seem few and far between on TM so Viark with it's regular updates and support maybe a better option, maybe even a new viark 4K on the horizon.

Thanks and appreciate the comments. It did indeed take ages to do the testing, but I wanted to be thorough.

Sorry to hear it still doesn't work with your specific TM receiver. The Viark Sat 4K is an excellent option.

Currently, it shades the TM 5402 M4, because of what it provides up front once patch SW loaded and FS is enabled,
BISS and it is 4K. It will be interesting to see what the new 4k TM 5402 M4 will be like when it does arrive. We will see.

The Viark Sat 4K is currently only available online and from outside the UK, so there is a higher initial cost of getting it,
as you have to factor in the import duties. Depending on where you buy it, the cost could range from £140 to £170 including
delivery.

Whilst £140+ is a lot more than the £100=TM 5402 M4 cost, once you load the SW patch, you get 2yrs of FS and the BISS
included automatically.

With the TM 5402 M4, once you load the SW patch, you get BISS, but no FS. You have to pay extra for the FS sub.

Please note that whilst the TM provides FS access now and has done so reliably for the past nine months, it hasn't always
been so reliable. I am best placed to comment as I own both types of receivers with both of them SP1 enabled.

I have Viark Sat and TM M4, Viarksat is more reliable imho, I've been in the satellite game over 20 years and I have been around long enough to know when wool is getting pulled over my eyes these days.
Viark sat has proven support and the FS has never been removed from their products, unlike the TM.
The M4 got access to UK on FS only in May where as the Viark got it in dec

Also, another advantage of the Viark over the TM is that it provides an IPTV service with the right patch SW. It's quite good actually as
some of the channels can only be accessed using this service as opposed to Satellite.

For example, if you are watching the footy and it's pelting down and the signal is not so great. Switch to the IPTV as a backup option
and watch the same channel, albiet with the 30/40 sec delay.

We have been using it a lot. Still have to figure out how to record the stream when we are out, but I'm sure another member
can help on that one.

The Viark will be a great choice if you do buy it. I'm hooked and a fan, as I have two of them...lol

You can not do that unfortunalty on the 4k or Sat.

You can record the stream from IPTV on the Drs2,Droi and Dual.

Hi Kippysat.

Thats excellent work with the detailed report of todays patch, Unfortunately have to say that after loading the patch i still cannot get biss au to work all the onscreen message says is the usual 'Updating Biss Key please wait'
which takes ages before it then says 'Scrambled Channel'. I have come to the conclusion that its a problem with my receiver as i fully understand the procedure of how it works as had no problem with biss au when it was
working in the early patches. You say you have SP1 which i do not have or indeed fs as do not know how to get them so are you saying its working as maybe its because you have those installed?
Could you please check a couple of biss channels 7e 11689v 5040 Ava entertainment and 21e 11585v 2500 Riyadh MCR as they dont even clear with the regular key updates will be interesting if you get them to clear. Thanks.

Just stumbled across this again, biss auto update only works when FS is connected, with out active FS it wont update, the viarks are the same.
Yours may have worked before because all came with active FS in the beginning.

Thanks for the info i sort of figured this was why i could not get auto biss to work but pleased you have clarified it. Even the regular biss updates are limited so gone back to manual inputs which
at least grateful the biss ident was restored in latest patch which looks like will probably be the last one done unless surprise us at some point in the future.

Instead of any new patch, I hope in a new receiver similar to M4 but including 4K and, possibly, a terrestrial tuner too.
Obviously supporting FS and autobiss. Maybe before Christmas?
