setting up with hd tv

ive set the 500 hd up by connecting to tv using a scart , but have now got a hd tv , do i just connect to tv using hdmi lead or do i have to go into menu of 500hd and change some settings to get picture on tv ? also is it ok to connect 500hd to dvd recorder using scart whilst also having it connected to tv with hdmi, so i can record from 500 . thanks

Yes mate before disconnecting form the scart tv go to menu-system setup AV settings and change it to DVI.

Put your box on the new TV and it should work.

in av settings theres no dvi . under video output theres scart, hdmi , hdmi-pc and ypbpr . do i change to hdmi? and if so can i still record on dvd using the scart lead ? thanks for your help

thanks ferret , set to hdmi and all is fine . just one thing when i change satellites why does the dm500hd always go to either the begging or end of the channel list on that sat ? why does it not return to the last channel you were watching on that sat ? is it something in the settings or do they all do this . thanks
