Could someone explain how i use meoboot. i have it installed on my usb, and i thought i would try the new vti image from there. So i downloaded the .nfi version (of vti) uploaded it to mbootupload and selected the image (which said flash) and booted it. However after it booted up i ended back running the dream elite image that i have as the main image on my box.

When you reboot you should see a screen to pick the image you need to boot to in your case the options would of been

Flash
VTI

I did not know i had to install the image, and that is where i was going wrong (i thought it would install in my flash).

I have downloaded cccam etc, however there is no timeshift plugin. I can ftp one over, to tmp on my usb vti image. When i go to install it through the vti panel it looks at tmp in the flash. I could ftp it into my flash tmp, but where would it end up being installed in the flash or usb?

What ever image is booted is the image any FTP program will see i think lol

So if you FTP to /tmp at root of flash image the image you boot should see it.

Thanks but when i ftp in i can see both images. tmp on my usb is here /media/usb/MbootM/vti-image-V0.7/tmp and i can see /tmp (my flash image). I thought i would put my ipk in /media/usb/MbootM/vti-image-V0.7/tmp however when i go to install it looks at /tmp. I do not want end up with it installed on my main image but on the image on my usb, and i am unsure where it will end up if put in /tmp while running vti

As i say mate transfer the file to /tmp root in the flash image not usb.
The image that is booted be it flash or usb uses the tmp folder at root of flash image.

However anything installed will be installed to booted image not the image in the flash unless that is the booted image of course.

I understand how you were thinking also mate! Other thing also is the drivers from the flash image are always used by the booted image as well as other bit and bats. This is why some groups will not support if their image is not in the flash.
