I'm thinking of possibly changing my lnb on my 1m funke offset dish. What's the brand to go for these days. I think its a smart titanium thats on it and i have a inverto black ultra in a box. These are both some years old and for the cost i might have a change. What's the one to look out for these days?

A lot still rave about the black ultra.

What 1m dish have you got?

I have tried a Golden Media GM201 0.1db , Technomate TM-1 Gold 0.1db and the Inverto Black Ultra (v2) on my 99x109cm.

The Inverto just about edges it but the Golden Media runs it incredibly close. A very slight advantage on weak feeds.

Inverto’s last forever too…….

I’d give the black ultra a go then.

If you’ve got one of the older original long neck ones, just keep running it until it dies.

There is very little between the original and the v2.

I have both these and the Black Ultra is in my box of LNBS. The Titanium always has given me better results on weaker sats.

Its probably 20 years old, maybe i got a good example but nothing ive tried seems to beat it.

What db is the Smart? I have never tried a Smart but I have read other people say the same about MTI’s too.

Some LNB’s work wonders on certain dishes.

I have seen massive swings in signal quality on stronger TP’s using different LNB’s yet with feeds and weak TP’s on 26e only the Golden Media came close.

That's what i have on my dish it's been up there about 10 years. During these thunderstorms, we have been having i lost signal on thor yesterday. It's alright in most situations including rain but during the storm it was dropping out. I just turned the dish to 28e and all was fine.

What were you watching on Thor?

In the torrential rain and I mean biblical flash flood rain I got bad break up on 4K Heritage but that’s on a really tight beam.

Don’t think I’ve ever lost Sky News International.

I have lost 28.2 before though in storms. When the storm clouds are that heavy, it’s very difficult for the signal to make it through.

I wouldn't expect to loose Thor even in the thurderstorms in our neck of the woods on a 1 meter. I'll try that if we ever get heavy rain again.

Heard great things about the GM202.

My GM201 is a really good LNB. Runs the black ultra v2 incredibly close.

Managed to find a Smart Titanium 0.1db twin on eBay - brand new, build date 2009.

It absolutely trounces my Black Ultra on signal quality, - slightly down on signal strength on some TP’s.

100cm Orbital dish.

I have just purchased two of these LNB's from an ebay seller. He had three left after my purchase.
It looks like old dead stock that has been sitting about.

I've 3 fresh ones sat in my LNB draw from the days they where new. I used them on multisat systems.

Still prove time and time again to be better or equal to the latest hyped up LNB.

They’re difficult to find these days!

I must say, I am impressed with it on my dish so far. Just want to put it up against the black ultra on some low strength feeds but on every TP I have been on, it destroys the latest black ultra.
