External HDD

I have an External HDD connected to DM800 and works OK but with one problem.
Each time that I switch it off, the pathway in the Image also changes. For example, from /media/hdd it is then found in /autofs/sdb1/ and so on.
This is inconvenient because if I then need to record something, I first have to re-adjust the Recording Path accordingly.
Is there a way to always keep the same pathway?

If I switch it off and try to use it say next day, the path changes on its own. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Set the path again and then do a Menu-reboot now. It should save then

Out of intrest where are you altering the path ?

I've already tried this several times. The path chagnes from say /media/hdd to /autofs/sdb1 or to autofs/sdc1. Can't figure why it does not keep a static location.
BTW the Box is a DM800 original and this happens on both NewDreamElite 1.0 and ICVS with GP3 Plugin.
The Recording paths are altered at Menu>SetUp>System>Recording Paths if this is what you meant.
Thks.

fstab contents are as follows:-

Code:
rootfs / auto defaults 1 1
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts mode=0620,gid=5 0 0
usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs defaults 0 0
#/dev/mtdblock2 /boot jffs2 ro 0 0
tmpfs /var tmpfs defaults 0 0
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults 0 0

Any suggestions pl? BTW, at the moment, just to test the HDD, I'm recording four simultaneous SD Channels from same Transponder of course.
