Im a keen XBMC fan but I have my doubts on its capabilities as a full on sat receiver and the scenes willingness to start developing sat related plugins and emus.
Time will tell different concept so should have some interested in it.

I think this depends on the platform used if its Mips then some of the emu's should be able to run...and if its open src then it could open the doors to other boxes like the duo2 etc...
I already have a x86 based xbmc receiver that I built myself. it works really good but you are correct it doesn't feel the same as enigma2... The new RUMORED DBMC project that DM are working on would be a killer of any XBMN based box.... lets all wait see for the new software from DM if its ever released
