dreamup and windows7

hi,
is there anyway I can get patched dreamup running on windows 7 because mine is a clone , I have tried everything running as administrator,running in every compatibility mode it offers I have tried drivers and alls I get is error cant find any com ports.aborting and I have also looked at settings in device manager.

I can`t understand.
I have win7 too, but no problems.
I mean your com is not okay or your adapter -if you use- is not okay.

I take it you mean to use with a 800SE ?

do you have a serial rs232 on board or USB serial converter? btw USB should be recognized as

USB serial port (COM3)

i.e. let us know pls.

this driver comes with my DIGITUS "USB serial converter" and it works fine on WIN7 64bit, try to install in control panel...

I have a usb serial converter coming from eBay,are you saying once I plug it in my patched dream up will work as I have not yet received it?

I only use it when I get the famous no ca error with a patched dreamup otherwise I flash with web browser

These can be very hit and miss depending on the brand.

If you dont get it running and have a desktop PC buy yourself a PCI rs232 card, this will give you a real comport and no hassle.
