thanks bm but them links are down...tryed a few i managed to get hold of and flashed around 10 times with various images but no look,,,i then used another version of dreamup which gave me ca error so i followed the ca fix but end up back to square one

Another option;
Try to convert your sim1 card to Ferrai by using the Ferrari patch.

cheers for the info but unfortunatley that didnt work

he has bought a new one now,any last chance info before it is binned,,,,
this is what i managed to do

i connected to putty and serial mode,wasnt sure what to do so i chose flash sector recovery and it seems to boot ok from whats is says on panel.choose language etc etc,so i do with remote,then hook back up to the tv and it wont boot,but will boot every time i choose flash sector recovery in dreambox advanced setup utility

If reached this stage, then simply choose the language and carry on from there.
You may be pleasantly surprised.​

i do all that while it is connected to the pc,when i take it into other room and plug it in then it goes back to not booting

Try doing all that (from language selection) without the PC connection then reboot box after finishing.

without the connection to the pc it will not boot to anything,it will only boot from pc if i choose flash sector recovery in dreambox advanced setup utility
