Booting DM8000 images possible?

Hi everyone, I set up pli, vti and dreamelite with meoboot. I thought i may as well try a dm8000 image just for fun. I tried Gemini 5 and surprisingly I got it to boot and browse the menus. It was unstable and I couldnt get the tuners to work, even if I installed the vu modules.

I just wanted to know if anyone has had any luck with DM8000 images with meoboot or BarryAllen.

The images for VU are good as they stand but it would be nice to have more variety.

Hi mate

Gemini 5 is a OE 1.6 image so you wont have much luck booting it with the VU as all the images are based on OE 1.5.

If you multi-boot DM8000 images built with OE 1.5 they will work ok for day to day viewing. I run a few 8000 images on my VU no problem.

Ok, cheers mate, so that means Gemini 4.7 should work. I just wanted to see if Gemini was any good because im too scared to use it on my DM800 clone.

Would you say meoboot or Barryallen is better?

Yes 4.7 will work mate.

Meoboot is so easy mate it hurts but ive used both no problem.

Yeh true mate it is really easy, I think ill just stick to using meoboot for now then.

Ill give 4.7 a go later to see what all the Gemini fuss is about lol.

I doubt its much better than Dreamelite.
