Hi guys

I have been watching 4.2.2 football feeds on my laptop which I scan via my vu solo,

The problem is the picture is great when the action is slow moving but goes fuzzy when fast moving,

Is there any way to improve the picture quality?

Would the picture be improved if I streamed via a dvb card rather than my vu solo?

Cheers

A decent PC config with a dedicated graphics card gives fine performance watching anything on PC monitor or TV (via HDMI).
Tested with MPEG4 1080i 4:2:2 sports and other events.

What do you mean as "decent"? Could you please provide minimum requirements? For me the same problem as hibees09...

i5 or equal amd cpu with at least 4 GB RAM and some recent dedicated graphics card - at least geforce gtx 6xx series or equal amd (ati) option.
installed vlc should be the latest version.

You can try activing the deinterlacing but italiano requie more resources

hello,

I will buy a Azbox premium HD+ for this... decode football feeds.

And I see 4.2.2 only "play" using VLC right ?

The problem with VLC is that add delay to the image. My goal to buy the box is to reduce delay compared to the PCI cards that do this job.

There is no update about this subject to see the feeds directly with out using VLC in order to reduce delay ?

To avoid some delay in VLC (the stream still needs to be decoded and it depends on the GOP length of the stream)

Normal VLC do have a buffer to compensate for small freezes/delays in the steam you do not need a big buffer when the stream comes from a STB since the stream will be steady

Try to adjust the default "Network caching(ms)" 1000 to a lower value in VLC

You find it in preference/all/input/codecs if you use the GUI

Else you can add it to the CMD line

--network-caching=<integer [0 .. 60000]>
Network caching (ms)
Caching value for network resources, in milliseconds.

Not sure what type of delay you have, but expecting no delay when streaming something is only a dream.
Thee is no update to "fix" what in reality is not broken.
That's the way it works
