do you have measurements for that plate and also how many mm in thickness does the plate need to be ??.Yes, if dish isn't too heavy.
Anyway for a 185 dish I suggest you to get a metal plate like the following one and put it inside the motor block.
Rotor works very fine, but it has the defect of possible block breaking (caused by a big dish and strong wind)
With a good metal plate like the quoted one I had no problem with my 180cm dish on my 1224EL model in the last ten years
yes i was on about the plate that goes inside the motor its self and yes good thinking on reinforcing the one that attaches to dish.in the pm you sent me I didn't understand which plate you needed and I answered you incorrectly, I thought the bracket that connects the dish to the disc the 1224 engine is very weak in the original configuration I broke into 2 pieces in strong winds later I redid the motherboard under 10 mm iron thereafter no problem now weighs almost 30 kg very robust
Can I ask where you got it from? I am looking for one for my 1.25 Gibby.hi guys i,ve a spanking new 1224 h-h motor i picked up am wondering would it be ok on a 1.85m aluminium dish ??.
Would it be possible to exchange out all the original body to say 10mm aluminum body especially around where the pressure will be.
Can I ask where you got it from? I am looking for one for my 1.25 Gibby.
Bought it for 100 euro from a satellite hobbyist here in Ireland,he just wanted it gone as he's got a cm 2.4 and a 3.2m c band dishCan I ask where you got it from? I am looking for one for my 1.25 Gibby.

How you mean a enclosure, just to protect the original casing from the weather and elements ??.Why not wrap the original body in an enclosure of some type with circular holes top and bottom to allow the rotating spindle to pass through?
It is a lot easier than removing the entire guts of the motor and transplanting them in a custom made aluminium body.
The main point as I see it with a reinforced body is to prevent dish damage should the original casing shear.
Provided an external enclosure wrapped around the original meets that need it is job done.
Bargain of the century, is it an EL version ?Bought it for 100 euro from a satellite hobbyist here in Ireland,he just wanted it gone as he's got a cm 2.4 and a 3.2m c band dish
