To give me an idea on how my dish
/ motor is performing can anyone in the UK/Eire let me know what strength and quality they get on their Viark 4K on the following TP’s. Preferably people with a 100cm dish!

Thor 0.8W 12418V 28000

Eutelsat 16e 10845H 30000

Thanks!

Those tuner values are useless on a viark, 97% quality on TM 5402 on 16e is 73% on a Viark
That’s why I am trying to work out how well it is performing.

My meter tops out at 85% quality.

Just wondered what others got on the same TP with the same receiver.

I have never seen over 80% quality on the Viark too. Anyone else?

Ah so they do go above 80% quality then!

Are you based in the UK?
I take no notice of the signal strength its all about the quality reading on the 4k and Sat.

I dont think it is the tuners that are bad but how the firmware translates the readings.

I take no notice of the strength either. I am just trying to work out how well my system is performing to other 80-100cm systems.

Extreme SE UK. Any more SE and I would drown. Bear in mind that my dish needs serious tweaking. I keep putting it off as I am not agile as I used to be, but waiting for a nice warm, wind-free day. :D

You will probably max out at 100% then I’d have thought.

I didn’t even think that was possible on them. Even on Astra 1 and 2 I get 80% quality, I thought that’s what the box topped out at

I never take the signal level s as gospel, as every box is different. Pretty meaningless really. They do help when doing a little tweaking if you don't have a dedicated signal meter.

I have VU duo and a viark 4k set up on usals its very strange cause on 16 e Digialb i get 70 and 70 on a 85 dish but on 28e on the vu 95 and viark 62 and all the other sats on much higher on the vu but on viark much lower and the dish is set up correctly

You carnt really compare tuners from different models and operating systems that way.

The Viarks do read lower levels then all my other boxes but yet on fringe channels it will still perform as my other boxes would opening the channel.

It must be how the Viark interprets the signal.

I get mid 70’s on DigitALB yet get massive swings in quality on 28.2e. Some TP’s are up at 80% some down at 70%. On my meter, that isn’t the case.

Could be a lot to do with the skew required on 28.2 which is difficult for a motorised system to replicate.

Have any of you ever been able to record on a 4K channel opened by Forever's server?
For example on ELEVEN SPORT 4K?

Well im not familiar with the starsat but if it is anything like the other Forever boxes you need the additional sub.

SP in the case of Viarks and Mars for the UHD.

@ Ferret,
Thanks for the info. When I renewed I was told it was SP1. Now whether that really is the case I'm not 100% certain. I'm not too bothered really as I also have a VKarl Sat 4K and I honestly don't use either very much. It's more messing about with them really then watching them for viewing pleasure.
Regards,
Mike.
