Hi,
Is there any tool there I can use to know the satellites location in the sky???
I'm not able to receive nothing beyond 28e, and I'm not sure if it is do to a bunch of trees behind my house or if it my lnb that is misaligned, after 28e my lnb seems to be far from the center of the dish.
I used the Dishpointer website but it only gives me the direction of the satellite and its not useful in my case.
Then I downloaded the DishPointer Android app and it seemed to work, but its not very reliable, sometimes the satellite is clear, sometimes it's not.

In the first picture the trees are blocking me exactly after 28e. In the second picture i was clearly away from the trees...
So i concluded that the app isn't really very reliable...
But it still didn't solved my enigma!
If someone have any tip, pls reply.
Cheers.

Hi
I am a novice but if your sat motor is attached to the same pole that the aerial is attached to you will struggle as it does not appear from the photo that it is vertical ?

How to set up a motorised dish

1/ Pole must be dead vertical in 360 degrees ( use a spirit level ),
2/ Dish mounted dead central on the motor spigot,
3/ Motor set at the correct Elevation for your location for maximum signal at your reference satellite,
4/ Motor at zero on the scale when aimed at your reference satellite,
5/ Dish Declination set for maximum signal at your reference satellite,
6/ Lnb set in the correct position for maximum signal,
7/ Site dish so that you have an unobstructed view of the Satellite Arc,
8/ Tighten all bolts when you have achieved maximum signal on all Satellites in your Satellite Arc.

The motor is attached to the dish not to the pole.

Here you can see the "SatBeams" of all sattelites: http://www.satbeams.com/footprints?beam=7112. In my city and with my dish, I can see all sats we can get in Portugal. I`ve a problem with my 24" motor, so I only get sats from 30ºW till 60ºE..I`ve good signla at Yahsat-1A @ 52.5° East, Express-AM22 @ 53° East and Yamal 402 @ 54.9° East ...

I already know that website. I can even receive sat's that the maps show that i cant receive, like for example, nilesat and some beams on badr
But i don't know if it's my setup or the trees that are blocking me and I cant get any signal after 28.e.

Normaly we need to take a little less signal at W and so we can have freesat channels...In a good dish position I have 100% in BBCs at 27,5ºW;so if you lost a little at W in your arc dish, like having BBCs in 85/90%, then you can get freesat...;)
