If you have a PC on the same network as the Dreambox, open up a browser and go to the URL:

http://www.whatsmyip.org/

That will tell you the IP address of the router.

Depending on your broadband provider, your external IP address may change from time to time. If that is the case you might want to get yourself a dynamic address from e.g.:

www.noip.com

You can then use the dynamic address instead of the IP address.

If you want external people to have access to your Dreambox, you will need to forward a port in your router, but that's a whole different question - see your router manual for instructions!

Using DCC, start the program.
It will show you what is your router IP.
If your receiver IP is correct, you will get a green line and the IP of your box will be displayed undr the dreambox picture.
If your Dreambox IP is not correct, click on search and the program will display all the IPs used in your house.
You can then click on the one that applies to your box.
If the password of your box is correct, you should get a green line instead of the red line.

log into your router and see what's connected to the router then go through the list of ip's in DCC until you get it

if you want a external ip for your box then you need a dns address assigned to your local ip . next open the port you want to use for the box in your router save & exit .
