Viark Forever boxes

IT Was already Discussed on this thread topic already and the correct answer was given , But i guess you just did not bother to look or find the answer for yourself ??
i will provide the correct answer once again ...
why Viark not working as a longer APD ??
is because its set to prevent users from Re-broadcasting IKS channels and iptv streams .
even with ADB function 'OFF' box will still go to standby as it was written in to the S/W to make box go to sleep and overwrite any user changes .
This again is to prevent Re-streaming nothing more .
Answer was very obvious and was answered already i am simply once again providing the answer : )
Good luck !!
Thanks barney for your clarification.
I did not remember that it was just discussed. If so, I would not post the same questions.
Yes I understand the reason. Well, it is not the best situation when you are watching and forgot to push any key on remote for long time. But obviously they must prevent any possible rebroadcast. Thank you again.

Does anyone know if it is possible to stream from viark sat 4K to outside the house (as it is possible with E2 decoders for example)?

Hi @dog-man ....glad to hear recording on Viark now working ok for you.

Just out of interest though, did you have to alter the APD setting and/or did it affect the recording success
in any way?
I couldn't find a broadcast that was 3.5 hours or more to test, so decided to alter the settings as in a post above.
The recording was fine but (I can't check at the moment), I think it was only a 2.5 hour recording. The one that failed was a 3.5 hour broadcast.

I will be keeping my eyes open for longer broadcasts to see what happens. I did try to set a 3.5 hour recording manually, but the Viark didn't co-operate.
It kept refusing to accept whatever I input.

no and your sub will surely be blocked if attempted .
Sub is attached to your Box S/N .
but feel free to try bearing in mind you stand to loose everything in the process but if u feel it is worthwhile nobody is stopping you : )

I wonder if he means like streaming to your PC via webif, rather than allowing anyone else access?

Thx @barney115! I didn't know everything was blocked even by personal use. . my idea was to stream on my iphone far from home, what I could see with the viark inside my home :)
thank you for your clarification!

Maybe through such home configured vpn server?
If your router supports vpn servers (for example, most top level ASUS routers do that) I do not believe they have something to complain and close your sub.
Obviously you must not share your credentials with anyone.
I tested such configuration some years ago only for audio (not video) streaming. I created an openvpn server in my home router, then I connected it using openvpn app in my iphone. It worked.
If you want to make the same for video streaming you must have a very fast connection to receive a flawless signal in your portable device.
Hope this helps.

How is receiver performing since factory reset etc?
I think the box has been ok, but I don't tend to watch much live TV..

Found the issue, the box thought pointing somewhere else. Dish itself was correctly aligned and readings from the sats where fine.

But both viark , xtrend had same issues picking up , locking channels. Changed the latitude settings, trial and error but now it is fine.

Perhaps switching boxes hasn't helped, unless the motor is going faulty or it's not reporting the correct location to the box. Further down the line might need a new motor but for now it's working
