Indeed.

For the current Forever boxes, they already tested 4K channels using Stream Relay (EUROSPORT 1/2 UK 4K on 28.8E) but it freezing badly so they decided to stop it afterwards

Its a shame that the GUI and EPG’s on the forever boxes is so 90’s, would be great to have a better box that you can easily create channel list for

They didn't test anything.

The channels were opening via E2 at the time, as HW pairing was not being used, as soon as they were switched to HW paired, they stopped opening on F/S.

It did show that the current Ali chipset boxes could not cope with Stream Relay and 4K though.

I've probably had enough of the viark, maybe just got unlucky but it really does have a mind of it's own. Goes to sleep. Have to take out the power and reboot. Don't get me wrong times when it will work fine for a few hours.

Been through multiple flashes, factory resets, changing cables , power adapter and even putting a HDMI splitter in. It's just frustrating.

The box itself, firmware..not great but it's good at what it does if that makes sense.

I don't think I would buy another viark just because of my experience.

I know this is a viark main thread, but I do appreciate the advice that people have given here..

Of the boxes that are available which run the forever, what would you suggest? Bare in mind I actually forked out on sky now sports today just for the match as I knew my box would randomly turn off. Just looking a few pointers.

I know it's all subjective but I know there a few people here who have purchased multiple boxes and will be able to lend their experience of these

My main use of the box is really just football. Watching on 28.2 and 16e SSN channels though noticed of recent ssn 1 has been on and off.

No one else has had all these issues, you have probably got a rogue stb. How old is it?
You had been saying it was working ok? Do you have fixed dish? Motorised or diseqc switch etc?

I believe that the more interesting channel to open would be Prime Video (I mean on IT package obviously).
Dazn was just opened, Prime would be the last one for all interested in football.
If not.... well, we must be happy with all packages we just have yet.

Is it possible to change the info bar to the one shown in those photos or to something else?

Info bar depends on exactly which box is being used so to answer your question its an Obvious No i'm afraid .

I think you were unlucky. Unfortunately they sold you a faulty decoder. Unfortunately, it happens, even with different models (vuduo, dream). My viark 4k works great, I don't have any problems whatsoever.

I'm not dishing the box, it's perfectly fine for what it does. I think we can all agree in terms of quality it's really not the best.

I probably did get a rogue box - maybe.
I run motorized dish usals. One box connected to the dish. Nothing mad.

Box is less than a year old, it worked fine but it does have it's quirks.

All I am saying is just don't think I would buy a other one from personal experience. Everyone's experience is different. Nothing wrong with that. Just mine hasn't be great.

Probably have been unlucky. Think in the grand scheme of things, generally any box that I have purchased from dream box, itgate, technomate, trend and few others, they have all worked fine. Not actually had an issue where box just switches off...

Would have to agree with everyone else, yes the box is not the greatest but it does work and work well so you must have just been unlucky, you don’t really have much choice on forever though and the Viark 4K is the best you can currently purchase new as the Droi and DRS2 are out of stock everywhere.

GT media box would be your only other choice but i wouldn’t over the viark 4K.
