Am using the above in Australia and the firmware for us seems to be different to that used elsewhere. Ours is limited to 02.46.01t-o. Am having some difficulty getting the LAN connection recognised. It's connected ok and LAN options are viewable and can be saved but won't connect to any website and doesn't seem to be recoginised on my network. Has anyone a simple guide to getting this to work?

You have the firmware that everyone have,since only vantage makes it.
Regarding the LAN.........
Can you ping the box ip?
Can you FTP into the box?
Make sure you set to DHCP for a minute until it gets all parameters like gateway/mask automatically,then set to fixed IP (or if you know all your parameters,make sure they are correct)
