Understanding Cricket Scores - A Beginner's Question

Hey all, I'm relatively new to the world of cricket, and I've been following the matches with great enthusiasm. However, there's one aspect of the game that has me a bit puzzled, and I was hoping some of you could shed some light on it. It's all about the cricket scores! I understand the basics, like how runs are scored and the significance of wickets, but when I see the score displayed on the screen, it often seems a bit cryptic. Could someone please explain the different numbers and what they mean? For instance, what's the difference between the runs and the wickets? And what's with the "overs" and "extras"? I've tried reading a few articles and watching some explanatory videos, but I'm still not entirely clear. I'd really appreciate it if someone could break it down in simple terms and perhaps share some tips on how to read the scorecard during a match. It would greatly enhance my enjoyment of the game, and I'm sure there are other newcomers who could benefit from this too.
