ubuntu desktop 10.04 and oscam

Hi i have pinguntu released on ubuntu 10.04 and i have oscam cccam
newcs etch. but these files are old and i want to upgrade files i can install .deb but for example oscam files tar.gz and if i change new oscamx86 to old oscamx86, oscam not working. and i can not install tar.gz. so how can i change tar.gz to .deb or how can install tar.gz on ubuntu desktop

Probably you have forgot to set the file attribute to executable. Use chmod +x yournewbinary to make the file executable then try again
Also make sure that you have the proper binaries for your OS.
