Telesat Joins SIA
The Satellite Industry Association said Telesat, the fourth-largest fixed satellite services provider in the world, has joined the organization. Telesat is based in Ottawa, Canada.
INTERNATIONAL - ViaSat said it has installed more than 1,000 LinkStar satellite networking terminals during the past year in Russia. Working through Russian service provider HeliosNet, the VSAT network deployments also include LinkStar DVB-S2 hubs, the company said.
PROGRAMMING - XM Satellite Radio said it will launch a channel dedicated to the music of country music legend George Strait on April 1. The effort will coincide with the release of Strait's 37th album Troubadour.
