Teacher photocopied child's face

A school teacher in Doncaster is facing disciplinary action after photocopying a five-year-old pupil's face.

Luke Wilson suffered eye problems and had to see a hospital specialist after the classroom experiment.

Pupils were studying 'light and dark' and other children had their hands copied.

School governors launched an inquiry after the police were called in by the boy's parents but decided to take no action.

Luke's mum and dad, Jane and Tony, have moved their son to another school and threatened legal action.

Store detective Tony, 29, branded the teacher "irresponsible". He said: "It was a stupid thing to do by someone in charge of children."

The picture of Luke's scrunched up face was hung up in the classroom at Adwick Washington school in Adlington, South Yorks.

Luke's parents only found out about the incident when their son started seeing spots before his eyes, which were red and itching, and suffered headaches.

He told them: "I had my face photocopied by a machine."

They took him to hospital where he was diagnosed as suffering from allergic conjunctivitis which can be caused by being exposed to strong light.

Adwick Washington chair of governors Margaret Houghton said: "We are aware of the complaint and the matter is being investigated."
