During the international exhibition CSTB 2011, General Satellite Corporation won the second National Award in the area of multi-channel digital TV, “BIG DIGIT 2011”, in the category of "The best digital set-top box." The Digital terrestrial receiver TE-8310** came out on top.

Upon receiving the award, Vice-President for Innovation of General Satellite Corporation P. Chumakov thanked the jury for the recognition of the company's progress over the last 20 years, and assured that General Satellite would remain at the forefront of digitalization and innovation for at least the next 20 years.

From February 1st to February 3rd in the exhibition center "Crocus Expo", anyone could evaluate the new market trends of television and telecommunications. The debate between the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media and the business representatives was launched at the round-table "Russia's transition to digital broadcasting.”

General Satellite Corporation, the leading developer and manufacturer of receiving equipment for television, announced plans to establish a research and educational center within the project "Technopolis Gusev" to prepare specialists in the field of microelectronics, nanotechnology and innovative entrepreneurship. Project Technopolis Gusev, implemented by General Satellite in the Kaliningrad region in 2008, will include a scientific and educational basis.

General Satellite exhibited two specifically prepared layouts for the project "Technopolis Gusev": "Center of Residential development of Technopolis” and “GS Nanotech”, a microelectronics production plant.

Of particular interest was the electronic guide, made in the form of a virtual mannequin, which gave visitors answers to various questions about the project "Technopolis Gusev."

As to be expected, the CSTB 2011 exhibition and conference provided all of the latest formats and trends of television and telecommunication technologies. More than 400 exhibitors from 27 countries for over three days showed visitors their latest developments. More than 20,750 experts, representatives of specialized agencies, media representatives and interested individuals attended the event this year.

**TE-8511 receives both open and encrypted television and radio channels. Its built on the elemental basis of standard-definition television and supports the accepted Russian progressive compression format MPEG-4. The unit is compact and of modern design.
