Sky Card with Spiderbox and Sky Box HEX Serial Number (Help Please)

Please can u help to confirm . Is it possible to use a Sky card in Spider Box 9000 hd, to view all ch.s. I have a subscription but wud like to get sports, movies and porn ch.s . I saw on some forum re; Hex number,,got that . Please can u help, Thanking You Ever So Much

With the Sky card inserted you get your Sky Box Serial Number using the on screen menus (Services > System SetUp > System Details [Above Viewing Card Number there is a serial number in Decimal, jot this down]). Type the serial number into Windows Calculator and click the HEX option to convert the box number to HEX. Then on the Spiderbox Menus (after inserting Sky Card into Spiderbox) go to the Accessory Menu (USB > Common Interface > N/D/S ....etc) select N/D/S, press the coloured button to get to screen where you type in the box number and input in HEX.

Thanks empb for quick reply. I am using a Sky Ireland card does this matter, plus serial no. ends with an 'E ' ?

There are 11 characters in total, so shall I omit the 'E'. ? p.s Does it have to be connected to internet to work ?

After Hex is entered it shud initalize ! Is that last step ? Sorry for my ignorance , TY

The Sky Serial Box Number from the Sky Menus is 10 digits all numbers

Not used a Sky Ireland card myself but cant see why there would be any issues. And yes HEX numbers are 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E & F so if it converts to a HEX number with an E at the end, then leave it as a E.

When converted to HEX it is 8 digits, so the last character can be an E, mine has a B in it

But if you mean the unconverted Decimal Box Number has an E, I would assume E = Eire, so ignore it and hopefully all will be well. Internet connection, not required.

Got the Hex number and entered it. Should all ch.s open ? Do I have to set any other settings on Spider . Thanks

All channels subscribed to should open fine. I have Basic+Movies+Sport+ESPN all open, inc some bonuses eg Nat Geo HD, Sky Movies 007 HD, Sky Anytime SD & HD.

Can I recieve any unsubscribed channels ?

Well I don't subscribe to the HD pack so Nat Geo HD, Sky Movies 007 HD, Sky Anytime HD are channels I don't subscribe to.

edit: Note this is only true with older Sky SD boxes, newer HD boxes have the extra digit mentioned and even if Sky Sports & Sky Movies are subscribed to, these channels may not open under some EMUs
