I don't know about other images, but for me 84a had the same problem as 84 w/ OpenPLi images, random lockups & reboots...

I did flash the ssl84a only to the existing PLi image (with ssl84),....made a backup with 84a, did do online updating (Pli image date 4 nov) so far its running stable no problems on the box i use, hardware date 09-2010.
