My friend just gave me his receiver because he left to Russia. The receiver works great but doesnt have an rs232 to update it.In the menu when i checked it has old settings and also has the option to update software.When i selected to update it said it wasnt possible.How do i update this receiver, is there a specific satellite that supports this receiver for updating? Thank You

You can try Astra or Hotbird but is difficult.

You can Upgrade the Receiver with Jtag, it's the only way.

A Jtag cable costs around 20 bucks if you do it yourself, you can buy some on the bay too.

I have tried with hotbird because i dont have astra but no luck unless there is a specific transporter.How can i upgrade with jtag, how does it work? By the way thanks alot for your repley guys, i really appreciate italot for your help.
