question for experts - theory of mediaguard (seca)

maybe it's stupid question but i just wanna to ask experts if there exists some way to decrypt seca channels. i mean... if there exists some way how to find actual key 0C,0D,0E which is seca using as vplug say that.
if i know, seca uses 8 byte long key (key 0C) so maybe there is solution to bruteforce it because 8 byte doesn't look as "strong" key.
i mean... if we can bruteforce tandberg key which is 7 bytes key (8 bytes but useful only 7 bytes) maybe we can bruteforce 8 bytes key and (if i know) only mediaguard encryption use 8 bytes key for decrypting.

the talk is about id 006A for example which use c+nl on 19.2e and 23.5e.

but i think it's really impossible and not easy as it looks because i think we don't know exactly form of plain and chipher text (enc ecm and dec ecm), but maybe experts know more :)

maybe it's really stupid question and just impossible but i just wanted to ask if it's possible. :)

thank you so so much for reply. :thum::thum:

Tandberg uses 49 bit, so 64 bit would take 32768 times longer.
So even if 49 bit takes just one day, 64 bit would take 90 years.

But I like the idea.

Maybe set it up as a challenge like the previous two encryptions it will be probably be cracked in weeks by c0libr1 :)

Knowing the key is only half the battle. You also need to know the decryption algorithm used.

The original seca algo was hacked years ago, BUT since then they have introduced many "nanos" that modify the algorithm. Some of these modifications are not known. So even if you had the correct key you would not get a picture.

I think we must concentrate on encryptions without legal cards(subscription)for people..i think Panaccess is suitable to be hacked..There are very exciting channels @ 31.5e..

yes, i agree.
powervu has hacked (you don't need smard card for decrypting)
tandberg has hacked ((you don't need smard card for decrypting)
viaccess1 (i mean mezzo. don't know if you need smardcard for decrypting)
biss, compel...

seca was only example, but as you said: "we must concentrate on encryptions without legal cards for people." :thum:
