problem with sif 1.9.3d HEEELP

I updated my Qbox to the latest sif team image, after that I installes some plugins (emus, underworld and languages pack) after 2 minutes the receiver rebooted itself and after bootlogo of SIF image it apears only a black screen and it won't be updated into another image.


Please help me

Have you tried to install the original Version 1.5.5 software with only serial connection (No Lan). After you have the original software installed you can start over again with the Sif team or other images.

If you have problem with Qbox Image Updater v1.0.8 try 1.0.7.

you could also try a direct connection from your pc to the qbox using a cross-over network cable. it worked for me when my box froze (also using the sif team image...). i had problems just using the serial cable, firstly it takes ages and secondly it kept crashing.

Qbox update issue

Hi ,

If any solution from the friends above does not work , do as follows.

Downgrade your Qbox Updater from ver. 108 to 107 .
Your RS232 cable must be null that means pins 2-3 3-2 5-5 4-6 7-8 etc. DB9fem to DB9fem.
Under windows device manager inspect serial port settings as Baud:115200 parity none , Stop bit 1, Flow none .The proper com port must be the same as Qbox Updater .

First we check if we are lucky .

Under windows command prompt type arp -a . This appears all
the connected devices IPs ( QBOX connected and turned on with cross lan cable ) . If you connect it to a switch hub check the
log of your device if leased any new IP.

If not listed there ( no luck ) then uncheck the Lan option as described and try to update with the 107 version it does always the job.

Note that you have to watch the console about "BAD CHECKSUM" .
If you see any you have to resend image even without closing the power switch .I suggest always due to update first to reflash the original image 155 and after then any other image .

I have same kind problem, some times comes boot image, sometimes just black screen and no video signal.
1.07 updater with serial works, no chance to work with lan.
Is it still software problem.
Also lots of badsectors.

I dont know what previous owner did with it.

I had several problems with Sif.
I changed with Avalon and now everything is OK

Avalon is very stable.
In my box Sifteam image always crashed or don't boot.
