Problem with flashing UFS910

One of my friends have this receiver and it was E2 image in it and receiver one day just stop to working, only red light on display. I tryed to access with KCC but there is no way to do it. I try to do recovery with those programs (tftpd and HT) I found here but still nothing. Is there any solution for this problem?

P.S. Sorry for my bad english :rolleyes:

Did you try "UltimateFlashRecovery"?

When flash is badly messed up KathiUp will not work. You can write to flash but it will not boot at the end of flashing and you just get redlight on Kathi so use this method instead.


Connect null modem cable with pc and Kathi using (I use Com Port 1)

Use Windows pc with Hyperterminal prog installed.

Download UltimateFlashRecovery 910 rev 0.998 from AAF team site and unzip file on to desktop.

Inside zip file is image file 'ufr910.img' and 'ufr910.exe' file.

You are going to load image file on to Kathi flash.
"ufr910.exe" file tells to box how to do it.

Load image file on to fat32 usb stick:
kathrein/ufs910/ufr910.img
then the image file as normal.

Put usb stick in front slot of box (some sticks not compatible!)

Open Hyperterminal Prog on pc.

New Connection (give it session name like 'Kathi')

Configure the connection as below.

115200
8
None
1
None




Apply
OK
OK



Switch on box, and immediately press "return" key to prevent box booting of box.

Text appears in Hypertermal prog means Kathi is connected to PC (must be: STB7100ref> ). If not then check connections or repeat.

enter or copy text below in bold and paste in Hyperterminal
edit


loadb a4000000; bootm a4000000

(don't make mistakes in command; otherwise you will kill box)

Paste to Host (text appears in text box)

Press return

Message in text box shows "Ready for binary (Kermit)download to )xA4000000 at 115200 bps...' or similar

Click Transfer, send file.

Protocol 'Kermit' (IMPORTANT!)

Filename, Browse. select the ufr910.exe file download earlier.


Click Send.

File should transfer to box but sometimes fails, if fails repeat procedure, transfer takes about ten seconds .

Do not touch Kathi at that moment!

Kathi now boots and reads file from USB drive. Messages on front of box.

Erasing flash

Writing flash

Takes about 4 minutes (for me 3,5 minutes).

Kathi reboots. Flash is now healthy and read for new firmware.

Close Hypertinamal programme.

Now you are able to use USB method for new flash using 'notfall image' or other recovery image.

i have it same problem and i have try all , and finaly it was POWER, after change new Power everything is ok, im watching now my Kathy :) ...

hello i have problem my Kathrein 910 did not respond to anything red light shines only how to fix this?

As I remmber if you only have red led light and nothing else, then it my be your Power supply (fev elkos) which are dead and need to be replaced.
But to be sure you will need serial sacbel connected between UFS910 and PC(with serial port ofcourse) and check if you get any output when you open Hyperterminal or Putty with com port settings.

If nothing is outputed then i am afraid it my be your power supply.

Easly you can also check power supply just by looking and three big ELKOS, if ther are still "normal" or they are oval or exploded..

Use google translator. Solamente puedo responder en castellano, espero que google traduzca esto casi bien. Yo tuve el mismo problema. Lo llevé a un técnico y me reemplazó un par de condensadores de la fuente de alimentación. Ese es el problema.

witam pomogla tylko wymiana flasha i teraz juz pracuje dobrze kathrein 910
