Picture Quality is much more important to buy a box than emu's plug-ins and nice skin

Broadcom 7335 / 7400 Chips...
Mate,
Unfor. this new chip set (Broadcom 7335) of the Vu+ doesn’t support scaler sharpness “video enhancement plug-in” (yet?) but the 7400 (= DM 8000) does!
In the past when I had the Reelbox lite (heavy quality build) it does also such a plug-in but I didn’t saw a real difference in the sharpness when I crank it to the max.
So can’t compare it with the Vu+ the DM (old?) chip7400!

I moved from dm800 to VU+duo, VU+duo is several classes above dm800.
As for picture quality esterday I tested both boxes in realtime on the same TV and channel only via different HDMIports.
I definetely personaly like the picture on VU+ better both on HD and SD channels.

Tell true, HD picture on Vu+Duo is better about 10% ,but SD picture is worse about 10-15%,because we HAVE NOT sharpnes scaler in AV options,an have not "Video Enhancement" yet(i hope so we will have this soon!) So,beacause we have not that 2 opinion,SD picture is less sharpness .

Maybe you are right, but I really don’t think so that the VE or Scaler in AV plug-in gonna solve the scaler problem of this Vu+ at all! because of the fact that the scaler of this Vu+ is Not so superbe to called from what I have seen until now, I have had from the beginning on other hobby and on the (B.N.Lux) dealer site recommended to set your plasma / Lcd tv on 576i to get the best result out from it, otherwise a blurred picture quality as a lot of other peoples (Vu+ owners) that said when they complaining about/over the sd quality on other hobby forums as well!!
Ps: I had read on other hobby site that the 7400 have the “cap-ability / build in?” to use video enhancement and the 7335 doesn’t… so its not only making an -simple- plug-in and that's it, otherwise why the VE plugin of the DM8000 didn't work on this Vu+?... so that’s why mate!
All in all the future gonna show as the truth of it’s really does such capability to enhance the video picture quality to a better level!?

HD picture is 10-15% better on Vu duo,but SD picture is sad for that 10% because we have not yet VE ans sqaler in AV! Why and how ? Turn off VE and sqaler functions on DM800 (put all on defalut values,it is like TURN OFF)and You will see that the quality od picture on DM 800 (on SD channels) is SAME QUALITY like on Vu+ duo! Absolutely same! I tuned that 10-15% on dm800 with VE,all my store is based on that.
I use in AV and autoresolution default value on 576 i, that is best value for best quality on SD.On both boxes.

As i already said you may have right about that but still i can’t believe that a simple plug-in can do the wonder job of a super good video scaler? but again maybe you’re right if "they" can find some good solution to make the sd picture quality more sharper and crisper as it is now!?!

1. Fix Stop key problem
2. Fix framerate information
3. Improve HDMI/Component video PQ (=Picture Quality)
- Enhance deinterlacing algorithm. :thum:
4. Provide interface for user control of PQ
5. Fix E2 bug.(crash when adding radio channel to favorites)
Ps: didn't test it yet!!

Quick test:
Replace the newer 4.3 driver => dvb-bcm7335 .ko and you get/have scaler sharpness in the AV!!:thum:

I tried this it worked but broke my SD channels and I had to roll back to previous version.
Please to test rename the old file and don't overwrite it.
:thum:I have to say only one thing we bought Ipbox 9000 me and friends since it came out , and for one year didn't use it .Last month i flashed with latest sifteam rc1 extreme 0.75 ver , and I can say that this baby runs like mercedes .It will crash if it gets overheated(if you keep in closed place), but for the quality of picture no one can say to me that can be better then ipbox hd or sd.
I have compared with dm 800 Kaon hd , sky it genuine box , uk hd the ipbox rocks.
It is still receiver which it doesent have good support in software but with the performances that it has (hardware) is number one.

Put it in tmp then install (DE= Green Panel=> addons=> Manual install ipk packegs) then select expert in system submenu and reboot :thum:

With -using- the newer D4.5 dvb-bcm7335.Koe the PQ Filtering (test it on (Vti 8) Astra 19e!) is better then before so try it out :thum:
