Octagon SX88 V2 - which OSCAM config file?

I have an Octagon SX88 V2 receiver (4k), with OpenVix 6.4. I'd like to configure OSCAM. I've uploaded "OSCAM latest" from the plugin server. If I try to start OSCAM, I get a message that I need to put a configuration file in "etc/tubox/config". There are many OSCAM files. Could someone tell me which configuration file I need for my receiver?

Apologies I do not understand. There are a lot of OSCAM files on this website and others - I thought I had to download one of these and use ftp to put it into the "etc/tubox/config" folder.

How do I create a configuration file from the webinterface?

Please could you explain more.

Thank you. I have that page. I can see there is a config section. It is largely blank.

How do I create a configuration file?

Thank you for your help but the Wiki is too advanced for me. I do not feel it is telling me how to create a configuration file.

I have also pressed the top buttons of the Web interface. Oscam is not in the list.

hi I have experienced that issue with Oscam Emu and l just copied the etc/tubox/config/Oscam Emu files in to the etc/tuxbox/config and resolved the problem. It's my understanding the Oscam Emu are read at startup and the running files are in etc/tubox/config. If you change the config throught Oscam webinterface and save it it's stored in tuxbox/config

Thank you for helping. My first problem is that I do not have an OSCAM config file in etc/tubox/config.

I do not know how to find/create such a file and how to set it up to make OSCAM work.

I found a post on the forum here that gave you what i believe you require. I just took out some of the oscam stuff and uploaded here for you.

Thank you, that's kind of you. Am I right that these are the files that I should put in
"etc/tubox/config"?

Yes i think so. You may already have some of the files in there so maybe just copy the ones that you need. Or you could take a copy of the ones already in there and save them just in case and copy all these across. I have not looked whats inside the files as i am at work.

The path where the configuration files should be will be shown by oscam after clicking on "Files - oscam.version"

His oscam is not running as the version from vix i believe did not have the config files so it won't run correctly. This is why he cannot get into the oscam webif.

Thanks for your help but I'm still stuck. I've put the files given by Kegnkiwi in the "etc/tubox/config" folder. There are no other files there. I've re-booted the receiver but OSCAM is not working.

I've looked in the Webinterface . In the oscam.version table, the entry is "ConfigDir: . /"

Advice would be much appreciated.

Have you turned the cam on in the softcam menu? I am sure there is something in the vix images that you have to select a button for autostart. If not every time you restart your machine it drops the cam.

Yes, I have turned on the cam in the softcam menu on the SX88.

Looking in the log (which I don't quite understand) I see:

  • 2023/09/25 11:56:34 00000000 s (emmcache) loading emmstats disabled since no reader is using it!

  • 2023/09/25 11:56:35 37C3A64E c (dvbapi) Demuxer 0 no suitable readers found that can be used for decoding!
  • 2023/09/25 11:56:40 37C3A64E c (dvbapi) Demuxer 0 no enabled matching ecmpids -> decoding is waiting for matching readers!
Suggests that something isn't connecting as it should.

Hi Hpavil

There is lots of good points been mentioned but l load my initial files from the openvix plugins. Dowload the plugins. Menu/plugins/the selct the Green Function key to download the plugins. Then look down until you find softcam and select the oscam you prefer. l use oscam/emu, once intalled progress to Oscam webinterface which is shown in earlier threads the key one is Oscam Config. I would think a sample would have included by Kegnkiw post in an ealier thread

I only passed across the config files I downloaded from su this morning. It had much more within the file that was needed and I also did not get to see whats within the config files as i am at work. I only took out the oscam files and put them into a zip file for Hpavil. The rest of the files are included below i any one wants to look at them.

I've just looked in config file and all looks ok there. When looking at the oscam.server file there are readers in there but the emu one is not set to be enabled. I would have thought that is needed to be set to enable - 1. I would be better to find out what hpavil is trying to do with oscam. If he is just looking to enter a server line into oscam.server it should just be straightforward.
