Octagon SX88 V2 - USALS problems

I recently bought the SX88 V2 4k with Open VIX. I'm using a motorised dish and want to use USALS.

The fact that there are no instructions with the box does not help, but using the rather dated instructions for Open VIX ( from 2014), I think I've set it up correctly. My problem is that USALS seems not to work at all with this box. I can scan in one satellite e.g. 19 degrees east, but if I try to move to another satellite e'g 13 degrees east, these is no evidence of a signal at all.

This is in contrast to my old Technomate 5402HD. This box has no problem at all in moving from one satellite to another using USALS settings.

The best I've been able to do with the Octagon is to disable USALS, rely on DiSEqC 2.1 and set up each satellite individually, which is frankly tedious.

So for me USALS works with the Technomate and the motorised dish but not with the Octagon SX88. I cannot help feeling that the fault lies with either the Octagon or the way I've set it up. Any guidance would be much appreciated to get the Octagon to use USALS.

Using usals there is only one page you really need to set. This should be similar on all images. On my receiver its menu, set up, tuners and scanning, Tuner set up, I then have it set as the picture below. Have you made sure you have selected mode as positioner? When setting up you image for the first time you should have been prompted to enter these details before.

Many thanks. Yes, I have a similar settings page and have selected the mode as positioner and input my longitude and latitude.

You have to be carefull when writing this data
Its not same if You input for example 016.000 and 160,000
016,000 is correct one , same goes for 045,000
016,000 - Longitude East
045,000 - Latitude North
Check it ...
Maybe problem is not in that , but worth to check it

Missing there is no picture of how Hpavil has USALS set in the OpenVix menu
Mainly longitude - east or west

I am in the west of the UK and have set longitude to west. I hope that's the right thing to do!

I’m pretty sure that the problem is not so much USALS but the fact that the Octagon SX88 V2 is insensitive (compared to my Technomate) and not locking on to weaker signals. I’ve been switching between the Octagon and my old Technomate 5402HD. I’ve used the Technomate to lock on to “weaker” signals, unplugged it, connected the Octagon and then slowly fine tuned the positioner to get a signal on the Octagon. It does this with difficulty but, even then, weaker channels drop out on the Octagon; whereas they are picked up without difficulty by the Technomate. For example (I’m in the UK) the Swiss channels on 9 degrees east are clear and present on the Technomate, they drop out much of the time on the Octagon. Needless to say, I'm disappointed.

Thank you all. Now sent back to WoS for investigation.
Just for the record, the error was mine. I had put in the correct co-ordinates based on my location. But, on closer investigation, it appears the dish had moved slightly. So with a slightly amended latitude co-ordinate, all is now well and USALS works. My thanks to Stef at WoS for identiftying this. The problem was not the box, just the user!
