No TV Licence for internet catch-up TV - it's official...

It might not be the most practical way to watch TV, but if you're relying purely on catch-up services like the BBC Player and 4oD, you won't have to buy a TV licence. Official notice dropped into our inbox this afternoon, but beware, the exemption only applies if your PC is the only viewscreen in the house, and it doesn't have a standard TV tuner of any kind built-in. Sadly, the exemption doesn't cover a PVR, even if you only use it to watch recorded TV or on-demand services like BT Vision. And it doesn't cover live streaming from sites like BBC Three and lTV.com - but how would the Licence spooks know the difference? So presumably, you don't need a TV Licence if you're only using BitTorrent either!
