New Sky Card

Hi there,

Is anyone aware if the new Sky UK cards are shareable?

I know it's not quite a rumour, but i weren't too sure where else to post it,

Nothing will change untill all old cards are replaced with the new ones, then if there are cardsharing counter measures by quickening up the rom for example an update will be sent out to the receivers (this will only happen when all cards are sent out to subscribers as the old card would not work properly and many thousand would be without television untill they receive there new card.

You will have to wait but I understand Sky are to address the Cardsahring of there service, but like other recent counter measures by other providers this have been quickly fixed on CCcam.

the card gets very hot, ive read that this is down to the internl reader of a DM being 5v and the card has to run at 3.3v. in my playing with one in newcs i found that it was fine for the first 60 seconds, then started slight pixelation of the picture on each ECM

i dont know if this is caused by the heat, as once the chip is cold, its fine for 60 seconds again, so will get round to trying it in an external pheonix reader

i think the reason for the new card is to try and block the shareing

sharing of the new card works perfectly with newcs but you do need to block the GA in newcs.xml

if you have been daft enough to insert your new card into your sky box and it has becomes paired with the box you need to follow these instructions bellow.

Take serial number from official receiver.

Delete first two numbers.

Then that number use Hex - Dec converter

Then you have a new number

Add 0 to the start of that number

Add this new number to newcs.xml

<boxkey>********</boxkey>

a new version of newcs was also released yesterday with notes about the new CAID in the changelog

ive now got this working perfectly on a technomate TM600, my DM800 connects to it for HD with no glitches at all

I think they were, because there was a problem with the Freesat's channels...

But most CS have been updated to handle new card and new caid now...

New 0963 Card works fine in Fausto v1.44 (well almost fine - I'm using Duolabs CAS 3 + Card Reader....so not the best card reader in the world!!!)

What exactly will this do ?
Does the same apply if using Cccam with DB
(Just had a new install, card already paired with Sly box)
what is recommend ?

Anyone give me the recomended settings for card to update using cccam in DB and settings for emm and ecm in cccam config and explian what doing the above does to a paired card.
Also should card be returned to original box every so often.
