Movistar + show El Clásico in 4K

Pay, Spanish Movistar + satellite platform operator owned by Telefónica intends to issue a football match between Real Madrid and Barcelona called El Clásico quality 4K (Ultra HD) for some of its pay-TV subscribers using optical fiber. Transmission of 4K satellite is not intended.

The pilot issue of El Clasico in 4K will be available to subscribers Movistar + Fibra Óptica (30 or 300 Megas) Ultra HD TV with Samsung Smart TV (from 2015), which supports the application of Movistar + Ready.

Live broadcast of the match will be shown in the demo channel 4K UHD SES, which works with Movistar +. SES has already together with its partners conducted tests UHD transmission of the matches. One example was the transmission of the Champions League - but unfortunately the transmission is encrypted in Nagra MA (more here).
