Motor or Actuator?

Hi

I'm looking to install a new dish system, but i'm wondering what kind of equipment would be the best.

I live in a place where there is a lot of wind and looking to install a 1.2m dish.

I have tried a cheap Vantage USALS motor, but i have never hated anything as much as that peace of metal. It went out of allinment every time the wind got a bit rough. I have heard from a lot that USALS is well, USELESS.

So instead of a 2 dish 8 lnb setup i am looking for a motor system of some kind.

Does anyone have a good suggestion as to what i should choose?

Hi

I was a dedicated actuator user for years as I had an old Jaeger jack that served me without problems. However, when it failed I bought a cheap H2H USALS Box from ebay and also had lots of problems. Part of this was due to a crap install and light-weight pole. I decided to get another jack but realised that the mounts were no where near as good as my old set up. I could only see a very narrow arc despite the fact I had bought a reputable make (Triac). On advice, a changed to to a Stab motor and I mounted it on a bit of scaffold pole between two T brackets. I have a 1.2M dish and it works well with my Dreambox - I can see from about 70E to 45W. It is as fast (if not faster) than my jack and just as quiet. It has stayed well aligned and generally hits the sat quite accurately.

I don't know; what's decoder you've got. But on your place I will try Wavefrontier 90cm. You can change program in 1/2 sec. How old are you to use motor? 8 LNB and Diseq is it enough for you? And much time to do other things. Keep smiling!!!

It was a new Vantage VT-DM120. I use a DM800. And no, 8 sat's is not enough ;) But that Wavefrontier sounds very interesting, however, i need a bigger dish then 90cm, i need a minimum of 1.2m to receive the pay chnls on 28.2e.
