QBox HD 1.10 New Firmware

  The QHU is used for updating the NOR Flash that contains the Linux kernel.

QBOXHD 30/10/2004 new filesystem

- This is the first release that do NOT need the QHU package anymore.
From now on, the filesystem and the NOR Flash will be updated
using only a .tbz package. The QHU files are now deprecated.
- Added the Add-ons plugin that allows to download and install settings,
picons, games and plugins. Duolabs's download server already contains
several add-ons.

What’s new?

Rel. “Fire Distribution Beta” 2009.11.04

This is the first Beta distribution.
The features mentioned below are the difference against the stable version
from 2009.10.30

Kernel:

Upgrade to Kernel 2.6.23.17

Drivers:

Updated framebuffer and DVB engine drivers. These sub-systems have been reworked and have changed from the classic stable distribution.
DVB-T tuner driver: Now it shows its ID correctly in Enigma2.

Filesystem:

Improved HDD mounting/unmounting with dynamic devices detection.
HDD and partitions support:
Supported HDD:
2.5″ and 3.5″ USB internal and external
HDD partitions are mounted in /media/hdd, /media/hdd1, /media/hdd2 and so on
The following cases are supported when mounting a HDD:
1. A HDD with a single partition.
2. A HDD with multiple partitions. Partitions can be mounted in any order in /media/hddN. eg. A HDD with 2 partitions sda1 and sda2 can be mounted in /media/hdd1 and /media/hdd, respectively.

3. Support for swap partitions. If a HDD has one swap and one ext3 partition, the swap will be activated and the ext3 will be mounted in /media/hddN
4. Supported filesystems in playback (read mode): VFAT, NTFS (read-only), ext2, ext3, CIFS (Windows shares) and MSDOS.
5. Supported filesystems in recording (write mode): VFAT, ext2 (native) and ext3

Enigma2:

- Zapping and the OSD navigation are faster.

- PVR is enabled but not 100% stable. Please test and report bugs.

Wi-Fi interface

Known bugs:

- Configure a static IP address in LAN (eth) and then change it to WiFi WebInterface (partial):
- Configurable interface: set proper values at first time

- Virtual Remote (via Web Interface): does NOT work
- JPEG and PNG supported
- Very large pictures may cause problems

Kernel:

- eSata drives do not block the decoder anymore. However the recording/playing
using HDD eSata is not supported, yet.
We strongly recommend to use HDDs USB. The bandwidth allowed by the USB
standard, even if it's narrower than its eSata counterpart, is sufficient
for recording/playing HD streams.
eSata testers are welcome!

Filesystem:

- Fixed bug: The wireless card is not properly recognized
- Fixed bug: The remote control blocks randomly (reported in the forum)

Enigma2:

- Improvement: PVR has been significantly improved:
The recording and playback of HD channels using HDDs USB works as expected.
Pause/Play works correctly.
Forward 2x, 4x, 8x works correctly.
Rewind 8x works correctly (This is the minimum default speed).
What doesn't work yet:
Resume a playback.
Custom skip time works only for up to 60 seconds. Default values for
buttons 7 and 9 won't work.
Forward and rewind of 16x and on.
If for any reason you are in one of the above unsupported situations the video
and audio are frozen. For going back to a 'stable' situation just exit
the playback.
- Fixed bug #297: There are audio and video glitches when recording an HD channel
that has more than one AC3 audio pids.
- Fixed bug #298: CustomButtom plugin now works. (reported in the forum)
- Fixed bug #299: Sometimes enigma2 blocks when restarting.

Update package (this .tbz file):
- The disclaimer and requirements paragraphs were moved to the README.txt file.
Please check that file for information regarding this FD Beta distribution.

Drivers:
Fixed bug: The DVB-T tuner in some frequencies in some areas in Italy do not lock. Notice that not all areas were tested. Please report if you have locking issues.
Improvement: WiFi driver update to v.2.2.0.0

Enigma2:
Fixed bug #323: Bug in wifi WEP encryption (reported in the forum)
Fixed bug #185: Initial intro video freezes
Fixed bug #217: USB HDD was not seen for recording/playing if it’s connected after enigma2 starts.

Fixed bug #329: HDMI and DVB-T have i2c bus problems when using an HDMI hub/switch and with some LCD/Plasma TVs (reported in the forum). Notice: If you have this problem follow this procedure:
Reset the QBoxHD to its factory settings: Menu -> Setup -> Factory Reset
Turn-off the QBoxHD
Move the DVB-T tuner from the inner-most slot named ‘Tuner 3′ to the outter-most slot named ‘Tuner 1′.
Turn-on the QBoxHD
If needed, configure the tuners: Menu -> Setup -> Service Searching -> Tuner configuration

Note that the USB HDD must be connected to the decoder before turning it on.
A menu appears in Menu->System->Setup->Harddisk->Harddisk Setup that allows
to set when the HDD should enter stand-by mode.
Some USB HDD do not support the internal commands issued by sdparm. However,
most of the HDD produced during the last couple of years support them.
- Ticket #420: Fixed bug: The NIT table doesn't have the correct info with some
terrestrial channel causing that some freqs be skipped when scanning
in automatic mode.
- Ticket #419: Fixed bug: When the DiseqC system detachs/attachs the LNB
