IPBox 9000HD: Which video files format can play?

I embaded WD 500GB HDD in my IPBox 9000HD.
With Branta manual, I did many recordings, and all recorded files are played OK (HD recording are excelent qualitty).
So, my next Q is: How to play, over my IPBox 9000HD, some HD serias or movies I took from NET, by my PC...
For exemple, I took down,from NET, some latest great movies:
007 (Piece of solare), all episodes of Preason Breake season 3 and 4...
When I transfer it, (with FTP) in my IPBox 9000HD in HDD folder, and when I go to Menu>Multimedia>HDD>Video files I can see it as 007.avi files, but, when I press to PLAY it, my IPBox 900HD, go in PANIC state!!!!
So, can some one help me to explane me, how to got a this movie or serias to PLAY it, over our IPBox...

videoplayer from dgs is verry buggy,slow and imprevisible ;d osent support a lot of encoded files,no audio with vbr mp3,ac3 ;no video on high resolutions +audio lipsync problem.
better solution is to play your files on enigma2 mediaplayer.
can play avi,mkv ,mp3,ac3,dts 6ch,subtitle srt,ssa ;embedded subtitles in mkv.
fast and very very stable.

If you want to avoid Panic when video files have been played with DGS image, try to set in setup menu SPDIF output to PCM.
P.S.
That true, only small part of supported A\V codecs can be played on official image without problems.

If you wish to play 720p mkv files i found the best solution was use the TSmuxer tool for playing mkv on the PS3 and then rename the .ts file created to .trp and they play just fine with SPDIF out set to surround sound

wouldnt play them as mkv files

Yes, I have E2 on my USB (E2 SifTeam 0.3.1._PKT Mod 3.4), and I am alsow very satisfized wih it,(specially with very fast speed off zapping and of course with CS using Mbox Emu), but, I am not very much skilled with E2 Media player, cos when I open it (just now I started E2), I see Folders in Media player:

1)Data Traveler (my USB with E2)
2)WDC WD5000AACS-0 (Partition 2)
3)WDC WD5000AACS-0
4) Internal flash

When I try to enter in HDD folders, it are empty!!??

So, I filled my HDD with movies nad series, with FTP, over Sifteam r8873 img. but NOT in Linux E2...

So, maybe, here is problem, I do not know, how to Format my HDD in E2, and how to transfer my movies in avi. or divx. format in HDD...?? By same way, like on SifTeam img.?

no need to format your hdd if already used on SifTeam img
to make it accessible on enigma2,you have to mount it.

menu > plugin > PKT mount man >
<>choose sda2 green bouton to mount
now your hdd is mounted on /hdd
or from telnet console
mount /dev/sda2 /hdd

now you can run media player;
menu > media player > Internal flash > hdd
choose your desired media file, click ok to play;
