Hi does anyone know if I can open the channels on this sat using a technomate 1500 ci?

I am in Northern Spain & have just lost all the uk tv channels as part of the satellite switchover so now looking at trying to open these channels on here but not sure if it's possible. I think they are biss encryption

Thanks

Hi Lee
Not sure but I don't see why not, quite a few Technomate's do,mine's a 6800 Super. If you don't get a more accurate answer you might just have to try yourself.Hopefully the 1500 is similar to the 6800:
In Northern Spain you'll get good recetion from this satellite with a dish no bigger than 60cm
Check that you have patched software, under System Info, which is in the Main Menu. There should be a p after the software version,if not download from here http://www.sat-universe.com/showthread.php?t=103997&page=3
This link will help with setting up the channels and loading the Biss keys http://www.sat-universe.com/showthread.php?t=242893&page=46
This link has the Biss keys http://www.sat-universe.com/showthread.php?t=230257
And I use this link for the latest channel information http://www.lyngsat.com/Intelsat-907.html

Hope this helps.Good luck and cheers Mark

Lee, Forgot to mention,my 6800 Super is an HD.Also, for the SD channels,I didn't have to "Add channel" I just changed the vpid(same as ppid) and apid for the lyngsat vpid and apid.Cheers

@lee171181 wont be opening BBC channels on 27.5 west with his Very OLD SD satellite reciever [ TM 1500 CI Super ] .

He will need to upgrade to a HD Sat box since those channels on 27.5 west are MPEG4 HD .

Something like TM5402 M2 HD would be a good choice and certainly will work .

I know I won't be able to pickup the hd channels but what about the sd ones that are on there as well, would I be able to get these?

No because the whole transponder is in DVB-S2 (Older receivers only do the first Digital Satellite Modulation standard DVB-S)

thanks for the replies, if I went for the 5402 HD box, does this box have the ability to watch iptv, or if not, do technomate do a box that does?

basically having lost all uk tv channels in spain im looking at my options & so if I cannot pick the channels up on this sat I will need to go down the iptv route with Filmon, so just wondered if there was a receiver that did both?

TM5402 HD only has Youtube and Hardstation
you can install free XBMC on any PC and laptop and use Navi-X and can install other Apps like FTV which includes Filmon channels no need for any box whatsoever .
only takes mins to install and is completley free ,
