What is the source of this information or its only an opinion? The Hot Bird 13G satellite has entered commercial operation
Last week, Eutelsat began transferring television and radio services to the new generation of Hot Bird satellites. Hot Bird 13G arrived last Wednesday at 13 degrees east longitude, from where it gradually began receiving services from previous satellites. Hot Bird 13F will also be ready by the end of July, so all services will be gradually moved from Hot Bird 13B, 13C and 13E (the three old satellites) to the two new replacement satellites.
Viewers and amateurs of satellite reception will not have to make any adjustments, as the existing frequencies and reception parameters will remain the same. Although there will be small differences in signal levels, they will only be in areas outside of signal coverage. Therefore, most existing users (eg in Romania) will not need to upgrade their antenna.
Hot Bird satellites can be received with standard 60-90 cm antennas. Larger sizes are required because the viewer lives in geographical areas at the northern and western extremes of the signal, especially to ensure reception in adverse weather conditions.
Hot Bird's 13 degree orbital position is widely used by satellite reception enthusiasts as well as terrestrial network operators (cable and others) to receive various international channels. Two all-electric satellites (Hot Bird 13G) were successfully launched into orbit last year.
Frequencies already received by Hotbird 13G (and also transmitting TV channels) are: 10719 V, 10758 V, 10796 V, 10873 V, 10911 V, 10930 V, 10992 V, 11013 V, 11034 V, 11096 V, 11117 V, 11137 H, 11158 V, 11179 H, 11258 H, 11278 V, 11296 H, 11334 H, 11373 H, 11393 V, 11411 H, 11449 H, 11488 H, 11508 V, 11526 H, 11585 V, 1 1642 H , 11662 V , 11747 H, 11766 V, 11919 V, 12111 V, 12558 V, 12577 H and 12692 H.
