hi guys am new to the world of sat & linux so please bear with me.
i have just got the new cuberevo mini with dvbs-2 tuner.
i have connected to old sky minidish to initially get the freesat hd channels, with a view to installing another dish to gain more sats in due course.
2 promlems have struck me right away
1. teletext subtitles apear after each channel change and have to be turned off each time.
2. the box freezes and the front display flashes 'panic'. this is only cured by rebooting.

do i need to install the latest image (cuberevo-mini_r8873.221305) downloaded from here via the usb stick? or am i missing something more simple.

the box version reads
prog ver 1.0 (r8340).
any help greatly appreciated

no response?

sorry if i thought i would get support here.
i thought this site was sponsored by the seller from whom i bought my box?
if indeed this is the case, then a genuine newbie enquiry with 50views and no response leaves somewhat to be desired

usb update

ok i have tried the usb method to update the image on the box, but i have deduced (i think) that i need first to update the usb driver from pc to the box. however i dont have the required usb a-a lead. i will pickup a lead then try from scratch.
anyone know if box can be updated via serial lead from pc?

p.s. sorry if my previous post was a bit 'sharp', it can be frustrating when you think you have posted a genuine query and dont get any reply especially then you are complete novice to this box.

:)

serial port do not work with updating

if you cannot use usb stick (usb_update.img) method, you need to get a printer-usb cable flat to square and use that method with flashtools.

with NLB you have usb2serial included so you can use phoenix with your BskyB card.
if you are totally noob, it will not be easy to use DGStation or AbCom original images...

NLB image makes it very easy for new users to startup, then you can always switch when you got the knowledge to use the box.

ok thanks for the advice m8
i am a total noob and have ordered a flat-flat usb cable as the cuberevo (mini) usb is flat and also all four usb slots on my pc are flat.
hopefully that will allow me to update the cuberevo with usb driver (method described in manual) and then i can update the image via the usb stick.
i am also getting a cable tuner for the box as i have been using non-linux boxes on the cable platform for several years and getting most from the satellite option still requires extra dish install.
i have downloaded usb_update_nlb8873mini.imgto my pc ready to be transferred to the cube. you say that this is the best image to start with?

hmm ip900 has no CLIENT connector.. sorry i was mistaken here..

so you can ONLY use usb sticks..

and yes, to begin with yes, the image is probably easiest to follow, and full documentation of extras are included..

but i will let you decide when you get familiar..

cheers m8 and thanks to all who replied
please accept my aopologies as i tried the usb update again and it worked 1st time:thum:
i was obviously doing something not quite right and feel a right idiot. just proves that if you leave something that is doing your head in and then come back later with a fresh approach - everything falls into place.
off & running now with updating capability but no doubt i will be back soon for more advice.
cheers again guys
