Filenaming bug in CCcam support fixed

OSCcam support added and tested

Satsearching's new Keybinding Menu in Settings!! Visible by default now, this has the facility to remap the Volume Keys!!
important: If you decide to remap these keys, you MUST first disable the existing Subservices Up and Subservices Down Keys, by assigning both of these to Key = None

... Then set up your Volume -/+ keys as you want them, and finally the Subservices keys. You'll be using the L/R keys either side of the [OK] button, and the L/R keys either side of the [0] button, as per your own preferences. Mega-thanks to Satsearching for his brilliant work on this!

Another tidy-up in the locals, where we've changed menue to menu and canal to channel and stuff like that.

Big thanks to LraiZer for testing and reporting back on all our foul-ups, which have all been rectified for this new release.

[B]New in Commando v14:[/B]

USALS (GOTO XX) diseqc support- thanks to Lraizer and Satsearching
Rytec 2 Day XML EPG - thanks to Lraizer
FastZap On-Off control in Driver/Boot Options
New head.ko Driver - thanks to LraiZer (support for alternative user driver to be loaded from /var/driver)
Softcam Status in softcam menu- again thanks to LraiZer
New boot logo - thanks to Satsearching
And, by popular demand, a retro blast from the past (2007 C9) is back. See if you notice it...
Top-secret Password is still commando
As usual- FTA Only - no keys nor cams. It's a rulez thing

AutoFS (CIFS mount tested) - Streaming - Tuxbox Commander - yWeb I/F - Lemmings - Pacman - Solitaire - Tetris - Vierg (Connect 4) - boot logo - Rytec 2 Day EPG with shellexec GUI - all this and more in C14!!

Despite the old Git's fetish with Free Space, we've enriched the new image with all these features, but have STILL maintained our world-beating 4.125MB megaMaxVar writeable JFFS2 var partition. So a typical user-customized C14 will provide something in the region of 3.3MB of Free Space!!

Anyone wishing to edit the SquashFS root partition with LraiZer's excellent Squazma Tools be warned: Your edited root must NOT exceed 2.752,512 bytes (0x2A0000h) in size!!

Commando v14.3 Neutrino for DM500s

Code:
Again the improvements continue and there is more to come

Change log

+ The password is now

ukcvs.org

+ Big thanks to LraiZer for the following enhancements (except where stated otherwise)

+ Satellite Info option in the Infobar- On by default, can be toggled Off in Settings > OSD > Infobar

+ Neutrino-style Progress bars in the Infobar, or pretty Coolstream-style colored dot matrix bars
Default is coloured bars- toggle to the other style in Settings > OSD > Colors

+ A nice workover of the Boot Logo (thanks to Satsearching)

+ Partition Map changed to take 128kb from var and give this to SquashFS root
(But don't worry- we still have a record-breaking 4.0MB writeable var partition!!)

+ The new SquashFS root size is 2,883,584 bytes (0x2C0000 hex) and we have 68kb free in there, for
future development.

+ Channel Icons active, and one for BBC2 included for starters. If you'd like more, then see Humforce's
post: http://www.ukcvs.org/Forums/41972-post75.html The icons live in /var/etc/icons and must be
named EXACTLY the same as the corresponding TV channel, else they won't work.

+ LraiZer's very latest neuxmlepg version and Freesat-compatible epg mapping, with the latest Rytec
multiple random data download sources

+ Plus his bang-up-to-date services and bouquets

+ For mgcamd and evocamd users, the libcrypto file is now embedded in root

+ mkswap support in busybox added at Brandan's request

+ and version info for most popular Softcams is now automatically recognized in the Softcam menu. Oh,
and you don't need to bother to chmod 755 your cam, as the system does this for you!

ps- the top secret password for Telnet and FTP access is now ukcvs.org
Did we mention that already? Oh yeah, we did...

Commando 14.4 DM500S Release

Code:
Commando 14.4 Neutrino for DM500S Released: 16-10-2011

Sorry it's taken so long, but the team wanted it as perfect as possible, in terms of user-friendliness and help.

As always, this has been a labour of love from LraiZer, so you know that the main new additions are quality stuff!!!

WHAT'S NEW?

++ NeuXmlEpg now rebranded as Rytec online EPG and updated to LraiZer's very latest v1.6 as well. (This is to do with more reliability on Rytec EPG download sources). Please read the attached readme for more info and instructions.

++ Radio Times online EPG - This is default and assumes your DM500S is connected to the web. It's gobsmackingly awesome, in terms of speed and functionality. Loads in around 70 seconds, all sorts of options for loading it, and while it's loading, you have a totally normal and fast viewing experience, too! Check out the readme for full details, please!

++ New Commando EPG Wizard menu under the BLUE button (then BLUE again). User-friendly, dynamic and highly intelligent. This menu, and the scripts it calls, show LraiZer at his very best. Everything you could possibly need to know about the EPG options and configuring them is in there...

++ Cosmetic, but nice- more Channel Icons now included. Apart from the first dozen or so Channels, we've now added symlinks to cover the 4 dozen or so Regional Variations of BBC1, BBC2 , and ITV1, including the ITV1 +1 channels. This is easy to grow further on, just read further down in the previous release.

++ More Cosmetics- LraiZer has changed the coloured dot matrix Progress Bars to a much nicer vertical bar variety. Looks very cool...

++ New password: For Telnet access, you shouldn't be asked for a password, coz it already trusts you. But FTP access is a bit more suspicious... For FTP access, the user is root and the password is your first name, between 1 and 16 characters

-- Sad news. Swapfile support is removed, on account it will NOT work in Neutrino DM500S. It's only encoded for DM boxes that have block devices support, like internal / external HDD, which DM500S doesn't have. So it won't work on a mount. Win some, lose some, sorry...

Now sit back and enjoy up to 14 Days EPG for prime Movies, 8 Days EPG for BBC1, BBC2, ITV1, Channel 4, and Channel 5. Not to mention 7 Days EPG for mainline Sports, 3 Days EPG for prime Entertainment, 1 Day EPG for so-so stuff, and Now 'n Next EPG for the crap.

PLEASE read the readme files, which are also included in the image in /var/tuxbox/config - as these docs will give you a far greater insight into how it all works.

ENJOY!

Commando 14.5 DM500 Release

Here we go then, with yet another Commando release for DM500S

Actually, it should also work on DM500C boxes, too, if you pop your own local cables.xml file into /var/etc

Okay, what has changed since the October 2011 Commando 14.4 release? Let's take a look...

Sadly, Rytec online 2 Day EPG has been removed. LraiZer reports that the downloaded tarball, when unzipped into /tmp - has now grown so phat, it's the straw that breaks the camel's back. In other words- the box crashes, through memory issues...

We're not saying Rytec EPG is gone forever, as Laz has said he will look at alternative ways of handling this data in the future, possibly by doing it on a file by file basis, along the lines that his RadioTimes online EPG works. Anyone got a fast (and FREE) host server we could use for this future dev, pleeeze?

What's new then?

GetEPG by LraiZer. Up to 7 Days EPG direct from the sat stream, so it works even if your box isn't online. This has been made the default EPG mode, and WILL kick in 60 seconds after you've flashed C14.5 - just so you can see how it works. Sit back and enjoy the show, LOL! Yes, we know we're control freaks...

Don't worry, you can easily change the EPG source settings after, via a quick BLUE > BLUE key sequence, where you will find our very user-friendly and dynamic Commando EPG Wizard menus.

GetEPG is fully-compatible (apparently, so Laz says) with the DreamboxUK Database as well. Wooo! And the SgtFlipFlop variety, if you first load them, and then do a 'Scan / Update'.

German language By popular request from our German freunde, we have added Deutsch sprache support, including all the Extra code that Commando contains. But please remember, we have a 4.0MB JFFS2 var partition, which leaves no room for the usual /var_init folder normally found E1 in root SquashFS.

Our release is by default a 7.75MB mtd3 Flash w/o Bootloader format for the UK, meaning that you will not see the LANGUAGE prompt at first boot, like you may expect.

To switch Language to Deutsch: Menu > Settings > OSD > Language > deutsch

And for you UK users that find yourself in German and don't know how to get back to English (I did this in 2004 in Zg0re Balu from Polish, fcs): Menu > 3 > 6 > Red > english

Sorry, but our Blue > Blue EPG shell menu for 28.2ºE is English only...

Satellites: Resulting from feedback, requests, and testing from our cousins in North America, Canada, and Australia, we have added the sats for these regions, thanks to (the aptly-named) Satsearching on here.

Picons: thanks to LraiZer's genius graphical skills, working with only the 16 base colours that are allowed in Neutrino, we proudly present a picons in the Infobar package of over 330 items, most of them with a nice '3D feel' to them, as well... Awesome! 84 of these are symlinks, for Regional and +1 channels, to save some space.

But he has really pushed the boat out with this package, including the very latesr logo designs from all of the providers. Eye-bleeding pixel-level work- stunning results- thanks, Laz!

TuxText: Yes- by popular request, this plugin is now embedded in the root partition and fully working. This means sub-titles too, for your audibly disadvantaged visitors,..

Services - Bouquets - EPG Channel Maps

Yes, it's all fresh and bang up to date. Don't even think about asking if Sly Sports F1 is in there, regarding Bouquets and Picon and EPG. Naturally, you'll need to be a Sly subsciber to Sly Sports and/or Sly HD in order to actually watch this channel

Driver support: It seems the latest cheapo clones out of China are shaving pennies off their price, by using a shite Philips tuner. Users are suffering glitching with these units...

We have a new feature in BLUE > MENU > YELLOW > YELLOW (System Info) that identifies which tuner you have. If it's a Philips, then we have no solution for this problem, sorry. If it says Alps-S - then you're laughing.

You can try other head.ko drivers one by one in: /var/driver and reboot. LraiZer has protected this, by detecting if the driver you are testing is the infamous Gemini 'Clone Bomb' driver. So don't worry- your box will NOT become a door stop...

Regional Channels: default services and bouquets are by LraiZer (as always) and are for the North West, even though we happen to know he lives down in Somerset.

For useful tips on how to customize your C14.5 reflash to YOUR local area, please look at:/var/etc/regional_channels.txt for some time-saving hints 'n tips. Either by FTP view, or in Tuxbox Commander, where the doc is easily readable.

***************

As always, the image is FTA-only and contains no softcams, keys, etc. For Telnet and FTP access, user is root and there is no password (although FTP will need at least one character for the password field).

For previous versions history, please see this thread

Enjoy!

Commando 14.6 DM500 Release

Commando 14.6 DM500 Release is finally here!

What's new?

A library of readme docs explaining all the below, and much more
but sadly, nobody ever reads them. We've made it as easy as possible, with all docs linux formatted for comfortable local viewing on your telly with Tuxbox Commander from the Blue button, so go on- have a browse, please, yes? The docs folder is the default right pane in TuxCom, just arrow Up or Down to hilite the doc, then press OK to view it. Or read via FTP in the /var/etc/info folder.

Set My Location 2-3-1
set your location in three easy steps. Yes, we've taken care of our cousins over there on the Emerald Isle too! If you're in the London region, which is default for the stream channels, you can skip this one, coz 14.6 is London out of the tin. Please see the readme for more info

AutoBouquets
if this doesn't sway users away from DMUK or FlipFlop bouquets and services, then we give up! 12 minutes spent (which can be automated on a daily Plugin Timer while you're fast asleep) and everything is bang up to date and 100% accurate, pulled down directly from the 28.2E stream! See the readme please, as this is highly customizable as well.

GetEPG (or) RT-EPG 'smart' Plugin
whether you're running in the default GetEPG mode, or have switched to online Radio Times EPG, you'll now see a Plugin for it under Blue > 4 - meaning you can do a manual EPG load with just two button presses! Or maybe set up a daily Plugin Timer to autoload EPG each day? The docs cover this in more detail...

GetEPG and RT-EPG eazier customizing
has been expanded upon since C14.5, with new user-friendly menus in the EPG & Autobouquets Wizard under the blue button. This subject has it's own readme too.

GetEPG find EPG ID
this uses dvbsnoop to quickly find the stream EPG ID tag for any new channels that AutoBouquets has found, but has not seen in the mapfile. So you can easily add it in to your user rdmap.dat file to grab stream EPG for it / them. Read the GetEPG doc for full destructions please.

International TimeZone Menu
default TimeZone is of course set for UK / Eire, but for our overseas users, we have a new TimeZone Menu for you! You'll find it in Settings > OSD and iif you remember to Save your TZ selection on the way back out, it is applied instantly! No reboot- no restart neutrino! More inf in the General doc.

Astra 28.2E 'All Channels' bouquet option- A-Z sorted!
LraiZer slipped this one in at the 11th hour, but it was worth delaying release for a day to pop it in at the last minute. See the tail end of the General doc for more insight please.

Any other changes?

Plugins
with the necessary inclusion of the rather phat dvbsnoop binay in root, we've evicted all the Games and TuxCom / TuxTxt Plugins from SquahFS root, and relocated them to the /var/tuxbox/plugins folder. Users can now decide for themselves which ones they want to keep. See the General doc.

Main and Service Menus
some subtle re-ordering here, in order to protect AutoBouquets from being fubarred by unwitting user Personalization. We needed to ensure that certain items could ONLY ever be on the 1 or 2 buttons.

Personalize Menus
the eagle eyed amongst you might notice that certain items have been disabled in here. It's either because it doesn't apply to DM500 (like Shutdown and LCD) or again, for protecting AutoBouquets...

Bouquet ordering
some of our sophisticated pikey members up North felt that the stream order for Doumentaries in P7 was too far down the list. We can't argue with these folks (or they'll nick all our lead flashing and exposed copper pipe). So we've hoisted it into P3 to pacify them. But you can get AutoBouquets to genearte any Bouquet order you like, if you just read it's doc...

Bug Fixes from C14.5?

Three that we can think of. Want to know what they are? Second from last section in the General doc, LOL!

As usual, we owe a giant debt of gratitude to LraiZer for his relentless work on making a great image even better! ENJOY!

Cheers- AL, Renny, LraiZer and Satsearching
