Blocking and ignoring

How can I block or ignore posts by another person? I see there is option to ignore but I also want the of ignored person to know I have no interest in them.

Is it possible or can a mod put in place a block?

waiting for an admin more accurate answer it shouldn't work as you said.
To ignore a user means you will not see his posts in future, but no report to him he's in your ignore list
Ignore option too shoudn't allow him to send pm to you (just receiving a generic restriction answer you limit person who can send you a pm).

While for what you say, better option could be just speak to him and say his contact is not welcomed

This may not be available for all user groups, but hover your cursor over a member user name and you may see this

I think he meant that he wants the option to block an user so that the user can't access the profile and interact with him

Thats tweets, we are a forum not X /Twitter.

Ignore is the only option we have activating it means you will see no more content from that member so effectively blocked.
