The Big Freeze sweeping across England decimated the fixture listion Saturday, as four
Premier League games fell ictim to the extreme weather conditions. Heavy overnight snow
in the North c’est led to the postponement of Liverpool s home game against Fulham and
Aston Villas game versus Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.
The safety of all fans attending the game is paramount Although the Anfield pitch is playable, the
conditions around the stadium and further Anfield for people traveling to the match are such that the
decision was taken, following police advice on safety grounds. to postpone the game said a Liverpool
spokesman.
In the Midlands, Birmingham Citys game against Newcastle United was also postponed at the
request of the match referee. Mike Jones, who along with the local authorities decided to call-off the

Blackpool is also cancelled while It remains to be seen if .Vest Brom s game against Wolves will be
given the go ahead..
Manchester City take on Everton on Monday night and they have an excellent opportunity to go to the
top of the table due to the inaction of their rivals Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal. With the top four sides
separated by just three points, City can throw the cat among the pigeons if they can rise to the top of the table.
