Guys I've always had problems with H.264 broadcasts and 4 2 2

PC specs

Intel i5 4670k 3.40GHz
Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB
DDR3 8Gb Memory

I have tried DVB Viwer and Prog DVB and tested different codecs but always get pixels and break ups on feeds.
Right now and I am watching F1 on 10.0e 11501V biss feed and I have really bad playback.
No problem with signal nice and strong.

Could it be 8GB memory is not good enough ?

Any ideas people ?

Cheers

Please first install klite codec All config settings with lava decoder if same problem then use DVB dream Or SmartDVB
minimum 2 gb memory ram running smooth for dvb Software...

I use DVB Dream with LAV codec which is fine for Champions league and German football but I get pixelation and picture breakup on Spanish football, no idea why.

Which codec you using and is it all European 4.2.2 feeds you have the problem with?

I have the same memory has you so I doubt it is lack of memory that is your problem.

Are you starting your DVB software using the NVIDIA card? on mine it defaults to the Intel video unless you tell it otherwise

It's more likely a codec issue. Often 4:2:2 and 10bit colour depth is used. This is not a well tested combination!

If you have hardware acceleration CUVID is usually the best option with Nvidia.

Guys I've tried many codecs and it makes no difference. I do have pixels on 4 2 2 feeds for UCL.

@Martin mate it starts with the GTX card no problem. I actually just bought this GTX1060 to replace the GTX660ti I had thinking it may have been that.

I'll try Ragnarok idea next time we have a 4 2 2 feed.

Cheers all

I should point out. Last time I had a 4:2:2 10bit signal. my glitching was a not good enough signal, not a codec issue.

HD signal on GTX1080 Card

I have the same problem using ProgDVB or DVB Dream with LAV 0.69 codec (Windows10).
When using a GTX1080 Card :
- SD channels are displayed correctly.
- HD channels are giving a bad image.

However, when using a GTX480 Card both SD and HD channels are OK.

I think the Video H.264 codec is not working with GTX1060,1070 or 1080 graphic cards

On saturday there was a 4 2 2 feed on 0.8w for the EPL and it was flawless not a single glitch.

I only have problems with UCL feeds.

The problem is now I work Mon to Fri on nights so I can't get to test anymore.

High bitrate 4:2:2 UCL Feeds seem to work better with DivX codec than with LAV filters ,
but sometimes there is Audio Sync issues and i have to restart ProgDVB Maybbe several times to sort Audio Sync .
with Spain LA LIGA 4:2:2 works very well all feeds ,
some Sky 4:2:2 High bitrate feeds do require DivX as LAV codec just will keep crashing ProgDVB .
Darts 4:2:2 Feed last week was not high bitrate but 4:2:2 and very good picture quality i had no issue there at all .
my GTX660 and DivX Codecs handled it very well indeed ,
i was going to upgrade to GTX1060 but now im not quite sure after reading above post : ))
cheers !

==> Problem resolved by installing the new driver v378.49 (released 24-1-2017).
